Default Terminator 3 bar map?

Is the Holley 3 bar map the go to for boosted situations? A quick search shows the efi source ones but those seem questionable.

that’s really a 2.5 bar sensor. If your going to want a true 3 bar to get a full 3 bar then look elsewhere.

We noted recently that the LS9 sensor stops at approx 284kpa. P01 ECU, 3 bar tune.

My buddy was running 25 psi, along with the scramble button couple weeks ago at LS Fest In Vegas. I am the tuner, but not there. He was sending me logs. Turned out he was looking at the kpa in the data logs and not seeing it move so he upped the scramble dome pressure.
Boost hit 32 psi. Oops. Truck was bad *** fast though!

I never knew this was an issue with this sensor. No wonder Holley calls it a 2.5 bar map.

****, I remember that now. My bad.

LowDollarMotorsports has 1,2,3,4,5 and 6 Bar Map sensors for decent prices.

Good find. Thanks.
The trick will be calculating the slope and offset for the GM ecu. Easy as pie for the Terminator

No prob! Of note too, LDM specifically say "not for HPTuners"

I made my own 3 bar map sensor by replacing the guts in a factory 1 bar sensor. Used a Freescale Map sensor IC. If you get the correct data, you can calculate offset and linear. I just need to remember how. If they give enough data with their sensor.
Could also be calibrated manually. But that’s real clunky.

I didn’t see where it said not for HPTuners?

Scroll to the bottom of this link, it's the last sentence

"Not compatible with FAST XFI or HP tuners."

I've been using this type of GM 3 bar map sensor for over 20 years, They work!

Original GM 3 Bar

In addition, I like to get the map sensor a little bit away from the manifold to smooth manifold pulses and get a more accurate reading. The longer the vaccuum/boost line, the more smoothing.

I mean, if you're not partying at the 6 bar level, are you really partying at all?

An oldie but goodie. Would be interesting to measure one.

Ha! Had an 8.5 outlaw guy with an LS say "if you aren't running 45 psi you're a girl"!
I told him I'd bring my pull on tutu to the next race. :-)

Used the Low Doller 5 bar on my last car with the Terminator X. No issues. He sends you the data, an extra plug, and pins with each sensor.

you don't want a map sensor that is way higher than your target boost. You will lose resolution that way.
