Indeed they work! The mustang looks to be a budget build, if you have an on3 turbo, stock manifold, etc you probably aren't going to spend a bunch on ignition upgrades if the OEM stuff is working. Nothing against it, I think its awesome. Other guys like to splurge off the hit on the build so they don't have to upgrade down the road, and sometimes (and dare I saw often) they aren't any faster. Some of those lightweight chassis are quick without having to make a ton of power, tube fox can get away with 1100hp and crack 4.5's while the guy that wants a street car that runs 4.5's has to make more like 1500. Hellbents car is just insane, is it his now or he was doing the tuning for Adkins if I recall?

Another tip, use silicon grease on the plug boot.
What's the gain of using a larger gap? Better burn? More HP? More TQ? All of the above?

Default Spark Energy Release

The small SPG of .016" can allow for a long ARC Duration even with the energy release of stock GM coils (100mj)
This can be a waste of energy due to the fact that the sparkplug will continue to arc AFTER combustion is complete.
A larger SPG of .045" - .065" will produce an ARC time better suited to ignite the fuel/air mixture when the piston is in the best position.
This will increase engine torque.
The LS-1 Tech users who fit the IGN-1A coil report an increase of 18-22 HP with a 500 HP engine.
They also have reported better throttle response and an increase in MPG.

Maybe I'll try to increase gap and see if there's a difference. I run my plugs out of the box, roughly .035" in an NA application. I have smart coils fitted.

No, sir. Not yet. I did pull the old plugs out and check the gap, they were at .040". Once I throw a new set in, I'll try .060".

Default Scott Performance Wire

Many here have asked about Spark Plug Wire.
Mark at Scott Performance Wire stocks/manufactures LS wires for use with the IGN-1A coil.

I am the one who created that name.
I have offered LS-1Tech members a very good price if asked.
I also supply the LS "sub-harness" for these coils and valve cover brackets.

Is this beneficial to a 800 whp single turbo car?

Default IGN-1A Users report

Hi All, IGN-1A users report to me, MY 500 HP engine on a RWD made 18 more HP with your coil.
They report better MPG and improved throttle response.

Are these IGN-1A coils, sub-harness and valve cover brackets still available? What is the ls1tech member price?
