Do you anticipate any head gasket problems once the engine is in the car and has a load on it? Or is it pretty certain after an egine dyno that it will live in the car as well?

Thanks,
Josh

The load on the dyno is close to the same as the load in the car. The dyno acceleration rate is a little slower than this engine should be in high gear.
I anticipate the head gaskets will be holding. I am building a engine for myself that will get more "abuse" to help us find the limits of the gasket.

You know, I've read this entire thread and have received several PMs, and it seems that some people have concluded that Kurt is bragging about his accomplishments. But you know what, he should brag or boost about this stuff, because it's cool and that is exactly what I would do if I had built something of a one-of-a-kind 1500 hp engine. My $.02.

Why did you use an iron block instead of C5R?

I believe the iron block will hold the head gasket better. I believe the bottom end structure is better suited to high hp. Also the C5R is expensive.

Why are they PM'ing you? Why aren't they posting how they feel? I think I know why.

Plain and simple. If you want to make big FI power W2W is the place to go. With that motor making 1500 easy HP. People are going to **** when Kurt is done with his.

While I dont think I can touch Kurts motor (his personal baby).. I do think you will be hardpressed to find another home garage built motor to put up the same numbers...

He knows what he is doing and it shows...

Phillip,
We used a Cam Motion solid roller.
The intake has 262 duration with .724 lift on a 111.8 centerline.
The ex has 256 duration with .727 lift on 119.8 centerline.
The lobe seperation is 115.8.
The engine comes up on boost smooth and idle's comfortably at 1200 rpm.
