Thanks guys for all the well wishes!! Can't wait to get to work on Monday and try and find more power.

I think if we could have spun the engine to 7500 it might have touched the 1600 mark but the water in the dyno was boiling!! The new dyno is at our new shop now so that will not be a problem next time. The new dyno can handle 2000hp steady state and 2500hp on a sweep.

Again thanks for the kind words.... I got to go back to thinking of how to keep the engine together with a small N2O shot......hmmmmmmm

Kurt - How thick is the glass window on your dyno cell, might want to think about replacing it with a thick piece of plexi.

I watched this monster in action on the dyno, Its sounds wicked. Very nice looking setup. Looks to be a real screamer for where it is headed to. Justin

Thanks Brian,
Your engine should ship this week. I have all my valves for my new heads. I will probably send them with your shortblock.

I had a meeting in Ohio all day today. I will try and get some pics up Tuesday. The intake is a one off part. It is made per cubic inch and other engine and car info.

Very impressive Kurt. Very exciting the head gaskets lived through the whole process.

I just finished installing your short block in the car. I am using TEA heads which were recently completed. The flow numbers on the heads are quite impressive. Hope to update you soon with dyno numbers.

made 31 pulls to get cal happy. There was 15 pulls that exceed 1400hp and gaskets lived.

Best guess on hp was from blackws6. He guessed 1420hp
Best guess on tq was from eviltwins. He guessed 1150ft lbs

it does not have to be thicker that girdle is more than enough( I am an engineer, I made a complete engineering analysis,it is made out of 304 ss and it is as hard as a arp bolt(185000 ultimate strength), plus it fits the stock oil pan and windage tray, it will not move the oil pan down ( were you will run into clearance problem when you launch the car and it will come down and hit the oil pan) plus it aids to decrease windage , wich will increase horsepower.as far as it going into to oil pan rails, it is a 6 bolt main, once bolted on it is a part of the engine, period. it works it works well, and it will save a lot of motors.

He said "That is OK and better than nothing but ideally It should be thicker and also wider so you can tie it into the LS1 pan rail... We have a deep skirt and a structural oil pan... Lets make use of it. You should also machine the pan rail, girdle rail and your structural oil pan for dowels. They will run from the block rail thru the girdle and into the cast pan. The dowels will transfer the lateral and longitudinal load thru the parts. I'd also run two dowels on the backside of the each main caps thru the girdle this is to transfer the lateral and longitudinal forces to the girdle and get that load off the studs... Since it would be such a structural component at that point I'd treat the pan and girdle system like a deck plate.... In place during honing and torqued the same so we know its going to be true once assembled"
