Nice, and they said a 1500hp LSx couldn't be done lol. That looks to be @1300 at the wheels with 18% loss for drivetrain Great work guys and keep pushing those limits.

Yes I saw that thread but no mention of what studs were used or the price of the girdle...

If it is a billet girdle an LS1 would have a deep skirt and 6 bolts on each main in addition to the billet caps.. That is tougher than a brodix little M with billet caps bottom end...... Its a F8cking anvil.

The main girdle system is fairly new to us. This is the first engine to run with it in place. I don't have a price on this by itself at this time.
The headstuds are ARP 1/2 inch units that we use after machining the block for them.

What do you think about girdles. I know on turbo buicks some hate them some love them... Did you put dowels on the caps anywhere to index and maintain alignment.... IMHO I was considering that on the LT1... Alot of aftermarket blocks have them for good reason...

I could see how an ARP 1/2 inch stud could find a home with a little massaging..

Think theyd hold at 25psi but with a C:R for alcohol at 25psi.... I'm gonna be 0-ringing the deck and heads too..

The engine was run on our engine dyno, all numbers are at the flywheel.

Do you all realize how close he came to a quad turbo aftermarket big block at those RPMs. Using just a bolstered production truck block and a single 94mm turbo!

5,500 1,115 1,168 24 < 7
6,000 1,194 1,364 24 > 17
6,500 1,256 1,554 24 > 118
7,000 1,299 1,731 24 > 71

Granted that is almost midrange for that motor but it is still a new age mouse with one turbo vs a big fat genetically engineered lab rat with 4 on it... The W2W 1560hp LQ9 block single turbo vs a quadturbo GM DRCE block at 2100hp.. Figure out the HP per dollar and specific output differences between those two...

The quad turbo's on that car where sized a little off and we had to make some bends that were not as good as they should have been to get it to fit. Also we did the "quadzilla" about 4 years ago, the turbo's are jumping in leaps and bounds in technology.
Mike's current twin turbo 540 has two of the same basic turbo's that I have on this 402 (I only have one). His Monte Carlo has gone 6.29 @ 240 mph with the new engine, if you math that out at 3000 pounds he is at about 3000hp at the flywheel!!

You still kicked *** with some pretty normal and affordable parts with that new motor...

All hail kurt... all hail kurt.... O say kurt you see

Now I'm thinking 3.25 x 4.030 in the LQ9 block with long rods so I can run small skirts, good angles and less friction.... Any pointers....

Oh and tell Mike the VNF hood which bears his name rocks...

You can find those girdles on E-bay, they really arent that expensive, but I am sure that the machine work isnt the cheapest

The girdle on this engine was designed and built by W2W powertrain. It is not the one that is on e-bay for sale. (that one looks good though) Our girdle goes across the main caps and under the oil pan to tie in the lower skirt of the block. It required studs that are longer for the mains.(ARP made these for me) Also the oil pan gets spaced down about 1/2 inch. This would be something you would only use on a extreme application.
