That's what I've been finding. A lot of people seem happy with them from what I can find on forums. I thought they only made 500 crank horsepower when I first researched them but there are guys making 600-700rwhp with them in camaros

Interesting, I didn't think a single 450 would support that! I was wanting to use a boyd's tank with a zl1 fuel pump set up which should get me to around 600rwhp or so, but I may relook at my priorities. 800rwhp is a lot.. I may settle with 600-700rwhp since I don't want to deal with the "next level" of parts in order to do that. I just want something fun, reliable, and easy to work on for the street.
I am currently using an LS3 intake manifold for this build--was thinking about going to the tick set up since it wouldn't be too bad to get the turbo piping figured out, since I can't weld aluminum.
I am really leaning toward the torquestorm as it's cheap and I do like the sound of it.
I already have the engine built, terminator x max(DBW and Trans control). Since I am lowering my power goals(since I refuse to spend so much on a fuel tank) I am going to go with a 258mm circle D single disk lockup. I definitely have more research to do

Go read my turbo build thread. I show a tool i made for super cheap to crimp a bead around the edge of aluminum pipe to keep the hoses from popping off. This was much easier than welding a bead.

I think the biggest hurdle for me is the intercooler piping if I use a2a instead of an a2w intake system. No matter either one will require it. I only have a little mig welder which is why I'm so limited.

I can't weld aluminum either but didn't need to , used mandrel bent 3" exhaust tubing when welding was required. On the aluminum tubing the crimping plier bead works perfect- thanks to whoever I got that from !! Can't be sure where I saw it first. Built my whole set up with a lincoln 140 amp mig , I used a bypass valve instead of a blow off so just had to weld 1" nipples to steel pipe , for an aluminum blow off flange to aluminum pipe just mark it out and take it to someone to weld it - a tiny job for a skilled welder .

I'd also make sure you have all the parts and pieces accounted for needed to make it work.
There's a guy on here who put one on his 4th gen F-Body but he had to modify a bunch of stuff and it seemed like in the end buying a Procharger would have been a better bet.
You've got tons of room in the engine bay, just put a basic S475 T6 in there, it'll look cool, make the power you want, spool quickly, be easy to upgrade when you get bored and won't go through belts or require maintenance and have much longer longevity.

Make sure it has a good warranty.
I'd also make sure you have all the parts and pieces accounted for needed to make it work.

Do the divided T6 with the 96mm exhaust wheel, it'll spool quickly and pull to 7,000+rpm easily.
You can run up to 14-15 lbs. on pump gas with a good A2A which most likely will outrun your single 450 but so what.
Run a lower boost at 10 lbs., enjoy the truck, race your buddy, add another fuel pump later and run more boost.
Then add WMI or run a different fuel and go for more, then move to a billet wheel or larger billet wheel turbo and make more.
You don't have to go all out from the start and honestly starting small and working up is part of the fun, at least it is for me.

I tend to think you really don’t know what you want. Lol. You keep changing your mind. You need to set a plan and stick to it. That’s what I did, I bout the turbocharger first which at that point, there was no turning back unless I was ok with losing money. I do not regret anything I’ve done. I drive that car daily too sometimes. Like all this week. Nice weather, taking the car to work which is 30 miles one way.

I think that is a good plan, I think I wanted to start too big at first and I was having my doubts. If I go with an s475, it will have a billet wheel for sure to begin with. I would REALLY like a dual fuel pump set up, but finding a tank that does what I want is proving difficult. I may go with the standard boyds tank and still use the holley dual 450s and just make it work somehow.
I love my 4" fender dump, lets me hear everything and I sets car alarms off all the time lol.
For fueling you can do a single in the tank and an external pump on the frame rail or something.
You could also do a 525 pump but to my understanding those require PWM control to operate correctly.
You'll undoubtably run into challenges and you'll find solutions, that's the great part about this hobby.
