Well it's all back together and seems to be running good, tranny shifting good and truck is much louder. I tried uploading a video but for some reason it's not letting me. I will have to adjust my boost controller and possibly waste gate. My over boost is set at 17.8 pounds and this turbo nailed 18.5 pounds with no hesitating so I guess I have to tame it down a bit. Only 1 thing went wrong, I burning a hole in my damn ac line. Didn't think about the fender exit Touching it and it burned straight through it but besides that I think we're all good with a few minor adjustments. Definitely doesn't lag either, I was nervous the new turbo would but not at all

I can't but I'm pretty much computer illiterate, except for this , tuning, and searching for parts lol. Congrats on getting it done , can you replace that hose and add some heat protection? Did you not tie the exhaust into a system under the truck and use a cutout ? If not I guess it won't be a sleeper

I'm actually not computer illiterate, i use one everyday thats what makes it even worse that i can get the video to upload. Last time i uploaded with no issues and lol no its definitely not a sleeper. It has a 4 inch fender exit and you can't just change the hose, you have to change the whole assembly but I'll change it next weekend.

Saturday i will put a new ac line and i also have new front tires and alignment getting done Sunday then I'm hoping to leave from there and get to the dyno after that. The track is having test n tune Sunday as well so if I have any time left I'll go make a few passes. Worse case scenario would be track next weekend. I wish the video would of uploaded, it's running smooth and sounds mean.

Just a little update got the ac line replaced, blowing ice cold again. Front tires and alignment getting done Sunday and Monday it's going on the dyno so I'll hold off on the track until next weekend. I don't want to run it before I get it back on the dyno and my tuner looks over everything and makes sure it's OK, he did mention he was conservative on the timing and my shift points are set at 68 so tempted to put a little more timing and maybe bring it up to 7k

Just me but I would see what the dyno curve looks like first , then see where the shift points will be optimal. You've done a lot of work in the last couple months , great effort!!

10-4 I'll definitely keep that in mind, I'll mention it to the guy tuning it and see what he thinks. I was just thinking with the bigger turbo more rpm would possibly be better and with the timing he mentioned to me that it was conservative so i was going to ask him if we could put a little more in it

Getting greedy with the timing is responsible for many broken Ls turbo builds so be careful, sounds like your guy is competent though and will be cautious

I'm on e85, well it has a flex fuel sensor but I always put E and yes I've heard that about timing a few times. He knows what he's doing tho. We will see how the numbers work out. I'm expecting 700ish rwhp.

Got the new tires on the front and the front end alignment done yesterday and then drooped the truck off yesterday at the tuners place. Had 1 thing that made me nervous, noticed tranny fluid on the ground and searched everywhere for a leak and couldn't find one and I had put 11 quarts total in the new transmission so I added a 12th one cause what I saw on the ground and then BAM, noticed where it came from. The overflow, apparently my dip stick isn't reading accurate with the new transmission so I'll have to trim the tube down slightly, it holds right at the 10 quarts and anything over that its over filled and spits it out but no worries that's any easy fix. Ran awesome and shifted perfect. Nothing leaked the whole ride there including the rear main seal I changed while I had the transmission out so I think we're OK. Ready to get a good tune and get this thing on the track.

So it looks like my tuner is going to switch my computer out , hopefully I saying it right but my truck a a 411ecu and he wants to put a p59? It's already on e85 but he he wants to put it on 3bar, it already has the 3bar map sensor but he wants the ecu 3bar compatible. I'm not to tuner knowledgeable but I've heard and discussed this a few times so I guess we're finally making the switch

With the right P59 OS, you could have 3bar and flex fuel with HPtuners. With other software there are even more possibilities. If your tuner knows how to repin things for the different computer this is a good switch to make.
For some reason I was thinking you were already on a P59 computer, but this thread has been going quite a while, so I am probably remembering incorrectly.

yeh thats the plan, i already have 2 bar and flex fuel with my current ecu but we been kind of pushing that ecu to its limits. If im saying it correctly I think he said he was going to use one from an avalanche. I need to just bite the bullet and get a holley but I really want to try the hp tuners core so I was kind of waiting around for that. Plus I just bought this boost controller so I'd like to adleast use it a while before I make the change.

Do you guys know what ecu says j1 blue? I have a buddy that has this ecu and I was curious if this was a p59. My tuner is supposed to find me an ecu but I'm just being impatient and seeing if I find one faster
