A little back track in that plan, that ecu was drive by wire, apparently it wasn't the one he thought it was so we had to order an ecu from an express van. 03-06 model that's drive by cable, so we're waiting on that to come in.

Getting frustrated with this truck, I got a dbc ecu from an 03-06 express van and we installed it and now my tuner is calling me telling me it's not 3 bar capable. Man what do I need to do? I hate my truck being down like that don't want to be guessing parts when I did my research and bought what I thought was the right thing

Use BoostOS. its basically free, works with 3 bar, wideband, even has built in boost control.
as far as your tuner saying it cant do 3 bar... all p59s can use any P59 OS so hes either wrong or you misunderstood him.

he definitely said it's not allowing him to go 3 bar, what is BoostOS?

Time to do a Terminator X Max and stop beating your head against the wall. If you are interested, I'll have this thing tuned up in no time.

I only work with Holley EFI, so I am not very helpful, but others will chime in.

Was waiting for an update , interesting as I thought all p59s could go 3 bar . What are the numbers on the ecm ? Think that the sloppy wiki and/or lt1 swap site break down the specific # s . Is it possible that you didn't get the correct ecm ? Side note - I've run up to about 18lbs on my 2bar tune and all was fine , haven't run that at the track yet but plan on about 16.5 -17 still on the 2 bar. Didn't do 3 bar from the start cause the goals weren't that much power and thought that the better resolution of the 2 bar would offer more control. Gonna check those sites for you , and check my ecu

I sent him everything you guys sent me and id definitely be ok with 18 pounds and i got in contact with the seller. He said its 100 percent an ecu from an express van that's dbc and that he confirmed the with the numbers from the ecu. I don't have the numbers with me because the truck is with the tuner. When I bought the ecu I told the guy I needed an ecu from an 03-06 express van that I could run 3 bar flex fuel and dbc and he's telling me he sent exactly what I asked for.

Back when I was on the stock PCM the tuner I was using said he couldn't do 3 bar with flex fuel. It had to be 2 bar if I wanted flex or 3 bar without flex. I ran up to 17 psi on a 2 bar map and kept my flex fuel stuff

I'm sure that not all setups can go over 2bar on a 2 bar OS , fortunately my VE numbers don't seem to change much in the 15 -18 psi range ( probably the small cam ) so it works for me but have not done a full pull at the track yet - will go bit by bit for safety. Had a quick look but haven't found a list of # that are p59 dbc capable, I know I have found it before , think it's a good idea to at least check and confirm. If not is the tuner willing to carefully go past 15lbs on the 2bar ?

All p01 ecus can be flashed with any p01 os.
All p59 ecus can be flashed with any p59 os.

If it’s a p59 it can run 3 bar and flex fuel.

if your tuner says it can’t he just means HE can’t figure out how.

it's definitely a p59 ecu and I was at 17 psi before on the stock ecu that was in the truck so we actually had already went pass that 15 psi on the 2 bar but it was his idea to switch to 3 bar so I bought the ecu and dropped it off to him and now we're at this point.
