Can all you guys with our tensioner system post your latest boost results with your pulley and belt combo? And at what rpm...

Thanks!

Do you offer a tensioner for C5 LS1's?
Is yours compatible?

SC Kit dependent?

Thx.

With the 3.4" pulley with the 214/218 cam in the 370 motor at 5900rpms I saw 11psi.....saw 12 sometimes on some cool nights.......

Did you ever get my message about canceling the order for the 3.2"???????

I tried calling you a few times during the week, but kept getting the answering machine.....

Let me know about that

A little past 15psi WITH THE FMIC 12psi with the damn twins. 3.4 pulley with the NAPA belt you shipped with my kit. RPMs will have to watch it, don't know when I am at full boost. I look up at the boost gauge when crossing the traps to see where the boost is at.
Belt slip, NOPE...did have a lot with the polycog dayco belt(stay away from that one)
Happy camper? Do a search on my posts you will see a trend

not on the car yet but i can tell you on an iron block that little brace you send with the kit should make a BIG diggerence.
i mocked the system up and without the brace the bracket would move back and forth ( iron block being only able to use 2 of the 3 alternator bracket holes), but as soon as you put the brace on, the setup becomes rock solid!

We don't sell Vortech blower kits, so I honestly don't know if our tensioner will fit right on and work the same as on the LS1 Camaro/Firebird ATI kit. We would need a Vette with a Vortech to R&D. Do you currently have belt slip problems? Send some pics if you want and I'll see if we can help...
The ATI kit for the Vettes runs off the GM belt system and uses the factory GM spring tensioner if I remember right...and we have ways to make that kit better with more belt wrap and such.

BOS...I did get your message to cancel the order...sorry didn't respond...I've been in and out of the office all month....

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Please keep it coming! We're glad to hear everyone has been using our tensioner successfully. If there are ANY complaints or problems, please email me directly...

SDCE,

I have your 8-rib set up, and I am happy with it.

Are you guys going to come out with a Griffin intercooler set up, or the like, that will be ready to bolt on without extensive modifications?

Thanks,
James

Damn sounds like you guys got it figured out. Am I the only one Still Running COGS???? I don't get Slip myself However I have had 3 belts on this month alone. 1st one had the brackets all mis aligned with my new Blower setup. 2nd belt, fixed the alignment problem but belt too tight and threw it in 5 miles! 3rd is running strong and provides me plenty of boost. So much it's scary...

Damn i thought my post was first last night but i guess it didnt go thru.

Iron block 370 with the 3.7" blower pulley 7 psi @6600 rpm. withe the stock twin IC's. I saw 8 psi on cool morning a while back...it was 4am on the way to work, and by cool i meen 79 degree's and about 60% humidity. The kit works. I will be stepping up to a 3.4" pulley to see 11-13 psi like BOS and Jeremy like i originally wanted.

damn Im stuck with the the ati stock kit stuff (4.0 SC pulley) holding 10-12 psi. Saw 13 on a cold night. Getting a little slip here and there but its the original belt so its worn. Putting a gatorback on this saturday so hopefully the little slip I see will go away. I like knowing theres a kick *** kit like this out there if I ever need to up the boost

We can spin the D1 SC up to its max (62,000) at ~16-18 psi w/ the 8 rib setup and an FMIC.

We run the kit in conjunction with a RR pulley.

Very impressed with the kit.

I use a 3.3 RR pulley, but I'm only spinning the blower to 55k (~88%)

I usually install them backwards to avoid the 'teething' effect. You have to do some alignment adjustments on the SDCE kit (space out the pulleys a very small amount) if you install the SC pulley backwards though.

How does installing the RR pulley backwards help?? Were youhave problems with it eating belts before the other way??? Do you have any pics of that pulley?? Arent they drilled?
Thanks Kyle

The pulleys are drilled and slotted. The slots however are angled at the belt to give it a teething effect. This extra bite into the belt seems to help for lower boost/speed levels on the blower. At higher blower loads though, the slipping is much more pronounced (if you have slip) and the teeths on the pulley will just 'machine' right through your belt. I put them on backwards just as a precaution, because when the belts go they usually take something around them with it (ie power steering line, radiator hose etc...)

It is a little trick that works well for getting belt alignment sorted out and allowing you to see the signs of belt slip (dust etc...) rather than just blowing the belt off. Is it necessary, no, but I do think it is a good trick.

RR has pics on his website.

Just to bring the thread back on topic though, non of the higher D1 speeds would be possible on an F-bod without the SDCE kit.

I have the 3.7 pully and because my fuel is not running 100% and I'm still on the 10.1:1 compression heads I haven't gone WOT yet. But I hit 10 psi at around 5K RPM once by accident. I'm sure there's 11-13 psi in this pully. I'm going through some changes right now that might help me hit WOT. I'll report back how the new setup likes the 3.7 pully.

SDCE's tensioner is everything it's cracked up to be.

Stock engine with a D1SC at 6000 engine rpm I saw 9lbs with a 3.2" pulley. Seemed kind of low to me. This is the 6 rib set-up.
