Default F.I guys with wideband

Don't forget to calibrate your wideband often. It says to do so in the instructions of my LM-1...especially if running a rich turbo setup. I hadn't recalibrated mine since it's initial install and it was off which explains some tuning confusion I had.

Must be specific to the newer widebands using the bosch sensor. The old ntk sensors don't vary much at all. But calibrating any controller or sensor would not be a bad idea.

How do you calibrate one, is it a pain? I will be buying a wideband soon.

It takes something like 20seconds, following some simple procedure. Take sensor to open area and let the LM1 do the rest. But it is important to do.

I have an FJO, and it doesn't say anything about calibration. I wonder why?

unit's that use the built in trim resistor in the sensor connector don't require recalibration. I beleive the LM-1 does some heater calibrations and nerst cell testing to get a better temperature comp for the sensor output.

my AEM units don't, my Techedge (NTK) require a manual tweak when you swap sensors only, my LM-1 has the cal button Yes, I've got 4 WB's( one is dual channel)

The newest tech edge (LSU) has a calibration you run from a PC, it does change quite a bit after a while. I recalibrated mine when I sold the car and it was pretty far off as far as the numbers in the calibration utility went - dont know how much off it was as far as a/f though.

The older tech edge I had (L1H1) never changed after months of use, it just had a trim pot to calibrate it.

I usually have my wife will watch it for me during live runs, but for the most part my A/F tuning started rich then was gradually brought up leaner so I could just record each run without danger.

Also my readings were in third at wot so I could basiclly hold it and watch it also when she was not there.

Is the bung that comes with this kit (LM-1) the same size as say the O2 sensor most places use to wideband our cars on the dyno?? Why im asking is because i have another bung already weled into place that Jayson at MTI uses when my cars on the dyno there for tuning..
Thanks
Kyle

Yes. I also welded another on the other side incase I want to take readings on the other four cylinders.

What is the life of a wideband like these when run on our cars?

I've seen WB's go bad on dynojets.
They normally get about 1 year out of a WB sensor.
