i got a procharger and used only 5psi of boost with the mods in my sig. i know i should get a forged shortblock first, but i hate to spend 2grand for a motor swap. i dont know if i could handle a motor swap myself on jackstands. pat

Maybe

Of course there is no knowing 100% but I don't see why you would with a conservative tune. How hard do you drive (I noticed you have beefed up the clutch/tranny)? I guesstimate 5 PSI would put you in the 525HP range. Within reason of the stock internals. Throw in a good tune and I think you will be fine. That's my $.02

I pondered the same thing this whole week. Finally I decided b/f I put the blower on that i would do forged pistons, rings, I saw no need for rods to where i'm not going to spin her, rod bolts, and bearings. Now she is in peices in my garage awaiting the pistons... The stock bottoms aren't made to hold up that kind of power....and all of us know that....but if it breaks.... just fix it! You don't need a new block...just build the shortie that you got.....I spent about 1500..
