The magnacharger is close to a roots style... Don't they have an F-Body version of that? (I have a C5 so I know they have one for it) I guess I HAVE actually never heard of one for F-Body. Hmmm

An "aftercooler" is Vortechs trademarked name for their cooler. The MAIN difference is the aftercooler is an air-to-water intercooler instead of air-to-air. So yes the aftercooler is different. Is it better? Well... maybe.. Basically since the cooler is more effecient it can be smaller and shorter. That means you don't lose as much boost going through the intercooler because of all the extra pipe distance/size. That being said... many of these centrifugals can pump SO much PSI out they can overcome the distance/size issues anyway. Also... it depends how the air-to-air system is setup in the first place. A prime example is the stock ATI system for C5s and the A&A system. The A&A uses only one large intercooler and MUCH short runs. Because of this people see much higher boost levels from the A&A at lower blower RPMs. Make sense?

Short version... "aftercooler" air-water, smaller, more efficient

It is becaase the engine sits back too far and underneath the dash, it sucks, because I really want a roots style blower, full boost off idle!!!!

Go buy a turbo kit, full boost at or before 3000, oodles more top end than a roots blower, no annoying whine.

but unless i get an sts-like kit, a turbo set up will end up costing a ton, and i would have to compleatly change my exhaust. superchargers are much much easier and cheaper. i also wish we has a roots style one.

Superchargers are much easier and cheaper? Sorry pal, but buying even a turbo tech race kit is going to be cheaper than having a custom roots blower kit made.

nonono, i mean, getting like a vortech kit will be alot cheaper than a turbo kit, new headers, new exhaust etc.
