Default Just another day at the track??

Went to a track rental on friday to try and do a little suspension work, and get the 1.4 60's down where they should be.

We got some more work to do i think...

WOW! looks like it's time to get some skid plates welded under the car. Very impressive to say the least.

things are a little beat up, but after more inspection it doesn't seem too bad

Nice vid, that 8.8 pass looked awesome except for the bit of rebound after the first landing. Wheelie bars next?

did you **** your pants?

I saw your were courteous and moved over to the wall when you managed to get the car down.

So are you saying not to bad as in fixing it this week after work each day and back to the track next weekend bad or worse then that......???? I can not wait till Thunder so i can see this beast in action again.

I've already got the bars made, but i need to massage the fuel cell a little. That's why they weren't on the car yet.

Shocks are still full still on compression up from, thus the little bounce. We were aiming at the suspension that day, but fought with some other issues

I was more worried about the car than my butt actually I was fully expecting to see a trail of oil behind me, thus i got over. Had a few spills over the years. When every thing looked ok, gauges wise and rear view wise, i drove off the track.

Not too bad as in trying to make M9 in 2 weeks.

We're gonna R&R the drivetrain to check for any cracks in the trans/block, fix the broken intercooler mounts, and trim up the dents in the down pipes. I've already managed to straighten up the one header w/ a pry bar

That is awesome. How many pounds of boost are you leaving the line at? Total boost?

about 12 psi on the launch, not sure what it came up to after. Had my hands full Should have been about 22, as we turned it up 2 from the previous 8.88 pass at just under 20.

We'll be at thunder, running MSPA

I keep going to your site for any updates on your car - same thing since 2001. Are you going to be updating it with your new set-up.

The reason I ask is that I'm seriously thinking about going turbo next winter (not this but next). I want to do it right - forged engine, right heads/cam, turbo, etc. I have a good base-line on suspension parts, rear-end, tranny, etc. Obviously the engine is the key. You seem to be about the only one running turbo set up with times I'll be expecting.

yeah, i've got about 500 pictures from the last 2 years worth of fab, rework, fab, etc...

Just haven't done much with them.

incredible! dragin the bumper is cool but when you get that suspension to load and unload properly, wow are you gonna knock some time off! get her in the 1.3 easily adn watch out records!

I think the suspension is working, it's just too much too soon.

Watch this, you can see it level off just like the passes before. Then the boost comes up on the second stage.
