Nice, that is more than mine catches in about the same amount of time. The AMW catch can works very good.

i wonder if i have enugh crank case ventalation. that is the only way out for the blow by and i am pushing it hard. i could put a filter on the oil fill but that would be prety close to the turbo and down pipe. i really dont want any oil spray on that. does the filter contain all the oil?

Mine gets that much but I set my motor up on the loose side. oil is cheap and adding it keeps it clean!! I pushed mine pretty hard as well. Mine doesn't smoke or anything as I imagine yours doesn't either. I think it's just doing it's job,.

you guys and your fancy catch cans.

makes my $3 pvc one I made look a little shabby. I better run out and put a sticker on it or something to spruce it up

also something to think about. with the configuration you have there it seems like the oil still has plenty of chance to get into the intake. I make mine with the inlet at the bottom and the outlet at the top and then fill the can with one of those net like scrubby pads so that the oil has something to cling to and drip down instead of having a chance to mist all the way thru the system. That scrubby and gravity are my friends.

With the ports so close to each other like you have there and the flow going down, I would be afraid of the oil getting sucked into the hose going to the intake as the oil enters and is heading towards the bottom of the can.

maybe I am crazy or paraniod or both but that's my $.02

if your intake is 100% oil free ignore me. if not, then something to consider.

there is more to the can than you can see. there is a part up top that holds the scrubby material and the incoming air has to go thru that about 1/2 way down the can. then make a u turn up the edge of the can and out that port.

You can't judge a book by its cover. There is way more to the AMW can than meets the eye.

Hm, I made mine out of some materials I picked up outta the dumpster. A small aluminum canister and some fittings I had on the shelf. Put in a stainless wire mesh that we use on the distillation towers at the refinery where I work (demister pad for those in the know). I also put my inlet at the bottom and outlet to the intake at the top. Only been a week but we'll see how it works after some more time.

Check these pics out to get a better idea of how the AMW catch can works. The hose going to the intake is completely free of oil.

Any oil above that bottom ring where the scrubber material is at is just from being handled.
