Default Which is better ATI Race Bypass or Vortech Race Maxflo Race Bypass...

Well seems time to upgrade...
who is running the Vortech Maxflo racing bypass? Is it open under part throttle conditions like the ATI unit? Howzit sound? Loud, good loud or **** need a muffler on it Any video of it, soundclips....
I'm biased to this one from the get go, cuz its cheaper...

BUT

I know a couple of you are already running the ATI race ready. How happy are you with this one? I get the impression that its open all the time except under boost. Howzit sound? Anyone got a sound clip that you can clearly hear it???? I would love to hear this one.
Price is keeping me looking at the Vortech unit for now.

Opinions?? Preferences on which one is better???

Thanks,
J

ATI race ready, sound like a street sweeper/jet coming down the street, once you get into boost it closes, once you let off its a big whoosh.....

I like it

yeah but cheapest I can find it is 369. I know both will do the job equally well, but the vortech piece is quite a bit cheaper....gotta be a reason why?? Does it not do something that the ATI unit does?
I need a video of that much touted street sweeper action

That Speed Inc. video that was posted here back in the day, I think you might of been one of the guys resizing it, but I was the opening car on the video and you can somewhat get an idea of what it sounds like.....

SJH is running the Vortech you are talking about and he said at one time he liked it a lot. I know he made a mufler for it though.

I'm using the Vortech Mondo bypass, which is a lot bigger then the race bypass.

Was WAY to loud so I did make a silencer for it.

DAMN THAT SOUNDS BAD! Thanks for the video and the killer offer......but my impatience got to me and I ordered the Vortech Mondo Bypass unit last night at 12:30am....couldn't sleep until something was ordered........yes I need help

kicking myself right now for not waiting a couple hours

Can you please let kyle have this deal tho, he's a great guy. I'm very happy with my HKS, but my big bro just finished his 396 T trim install and was strapped on cash, so I'm giving him the HKS to help him out....can't trust those lil plastic bypass valves that they send with stock FI kits.

yep I saw the same thing too, a lil puff....mine does the same thing and its a new block, pistons and rings etc....car runs like a raped ape, no misfires or outrageous KR either. I am also running no PCV valve, I found when I put the PCV back in the smoke stops(only does this after a rev), when I take the PCV valve out it smokes after revving it. SO I'm not too worried. I will be doing a leak down test this weekend to see if things are jiving.

no the smoke out the breather is normal, its venting the crank case like it should, If it smokes white smoke at idle, you got issues The STS kit is on already as of today but we are finishing up the fmic and then tuning so hopefully eary next week I will know where I stand.

Good on the smoke then, I didn't think I had to worry.

STS is on That's awesome. Let us know how its feels after Don works his magic on it. FMIC should go up real easy. Can't wait to hear some SOTP evaluations.
