Default Which turbo for truck and why?

I have this silly idea of rigging a custom turbo for my truck in a year or so when I get some money put away for it.

Here is the post with my little plan. Let me know where I am going wrong on it.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=230441
or... if you don't want to read it, just tell me which turbo (just the turbo itself) I should look @ getting.

My mods are below. They will not change before the turbo setup (if and when it happens) except for the addition of an eaton posi and some DRs....

Basically, I want (I think) a turbo that isn't some mini unit ripped off a volvo, but nothing for a huge deisel. I really would like a medium turbo to add about 50RWHP @ peak (6K rpm), add maybe 50-60 ftlbs from 2500-4500rpm, and not something so small that it will choke my low end (can a turbo really do that... choke your low end?)

Where do I go? Obviously I don't want to spend beau-coodles of money (after all, that is the idea of this "custom" thing) but I want something reliable.

Also, I have an 01 LS6 cam on a 116 LSA (I think). This should be turbo compatible right?

No such thing as a cheap turbo setup. Good luck and let me know how it turns out, I want to do the same thing.

Let me rephrase. Not cheap.... less expensive. I mean, not a 4K+ job.

FMU and Walbro pump = $390 (cranking about 450, would this even be needed?)
Bigger Injectors = $175? (Again, same ammount of power, would this needed?)
Retune = $50
Intercooler = ? Do I even need it if I'm just looking for 60-75 to the wheels?
Turbo itself w/ wastegate= ~$450
Rigging up the oiling system (help with this plz!) = I figure no more than $200
Running the pipe = $300 tops
Manual boost controler = $50
Boost gauge = $75
Fuel pressure safety switch = $75

That puts it @ 1765 if I don't have an intercooler, which I am not sure I want b/c I don't want to make too much power. (Read: DRIVETRAIN)

That means for roughly 1850 given little extra expenses I could have:
turbo with wastegate
oiling system
fuel system
tuning
boost controller
piping
fuel pressure safety switch
boost gauge
hosing, etc

What could say a Garrett T04B V-trim do for the truck with mods below? What kinda boost would it run? What kidna power? Am I even looking @ the right turbo?

Thanks a lot!

Have you already found these prices somewhere? I really need a fuel pump and haven't found bigger injectors for under $400-500. If these prices are real, I'll have me a turbo in a couple weeks.

As far as that T04B turbo goes....

I put my engine with specs as close I could get them and it claims it makes 386/352 brake HP. TQ seems right, but the HP seems up by about 15 or so.

Anyway, with a Garret T04B V-series turbo air/air intercooled on 8 psi the computer says it will make:
452HP/442TQ on top of my current setup with it making over 400 ft/lbs from 2K-5700rpm) and peaking @ 6K still.

And then if I ever got crazy 12 psi would put me at 500hp-tq.

So, is this particular turbo something that deserves my attention?

Check out the sts turbo site.... they offer that fmu and pump setup for that.

As far as the injectors... WOW! I didn't know they were that much. I have seen howerver that some1 got like 36lb injectors out of a cobra relatively cheap and they worked with a little modification. (but don't hold me to that) One of those things I think I thought I saw.

The turbo with wastegate I have seen for 450. Summit sales a "turnscrew" boost controller cheap... boost gauge... I'm assuming there based on prices of other gauges.

The fuel pressure safety switch I think I saw for 75 when I was looking up nitrous stuff.

the to4b turbo is old school thats the same thing i had for my honda but it was t3/to4b hybrid. that turbo is only good for like 350-400hp. try www.cheapturbo.com they have a t4/to4r its good for 750hp 4"inlet and 2.5" outlet, flow: 75 lbs/min 960cfm basically same physical size as t76 just different internals. price $899. they also have the tial 44mm wastgates. internal wastegates suck. but just remember this the to4b is what hondas use on there 4cyl. you want that for a v8? i just sold mine the inlet is like 2.5" and outlet is about 1"

I thought W2W was working on a turbo setup for trucks. Maybe 427 can chime in.
