That picture was taken when the engine was still fairly new. I leave the PCV off at the beginning to see if something with the motor is wrong. If the motor is hurting, it will start to smoke excessively out of the PCV. Just a trick.
The PCV is hooked up to the blower suction now with an aircraft air oil separator in line.

They work well, but are kind a paint to find a place to mount. I put mine where my AC charge tank used to be.
