Get some 3.73's in there and some BFG's or ET streets and have some more fun.

Thanks guys.

I am running a 4'' pulley but I have a 3.7'' sitting in the garage.....I am fighting my better judgement on putting it on. I want to keep this thing as safe as possible.

So you think I should go with some 3.73's over 3.42's? What kind of gains would gears have for my setup?

What gears are in there now?? How much freeway driving to you do? How important is MPG to you.. that can answer alot of things for us so we can help you....

Still running the stock 2.73's lol

MPG isnt a real big concern, I drive to work with it everyday but its Highway miles.....so the car is in lock up most of the time.

Would the track gains warrant the cost of the 3.73 thick gears?

I had 2.73's and i had wished i kept them. what do u spin now at 70?? 18-1900 rpm... or less i can remmeber... i spin 2500 @ 70 now and soon to be higher with a 3 speed. Have you ever broke the stok rear gear? if not keep it..... even though we are a stronder 2 series carrier i have broken 3 sets of 3.73's..... on Nitto's. I sat just save your money and dont wast eit on the shitty 10 bolt...... i have wasted my $$$ about $1000 into a POS and it still breaks.... save the $$ and use it ona 12 bolt with a set of 3.42's if yor going to stick with a 26" tall tire... if not and your going to go with a 28" tire then go with 3.73's.............. in a 12 bolt...

If you are on a budget go with 3.42s and throw in a converter. You'll drop a second easily.

congrats

How much time did you cut off when you added the procharger?

I ask because I ran a 12.49 with basically the same mods as you minus the cam, fuel stuff and procharger, but I had DRs (3680lbs)

BTW 2.73s....I like em

It's all in your 60'.... The author of this thread has more than enough MPH to run a mid 11 with a good 1.6 60'..
When you said you ran 12.49 without a cam, fuel, supercharger and such, you forgot to mention your MPH. In an auto I highly doubt you were anywhere near 115mph. Not unless you got some serious weight reduction and race in the land of magical ETs.. ie HRP LOL

I ran a 12.93 @ 106 (1.79 60) with just a TCI 3500 converter before the mod madness began.

I have a 3.7'' pulley that I am scared to put on, I want to keep this beast as safe as possible.

You can be safe if you do it smart.... what i mean by that is when you put the other pulley on you go back tot he dyno and retune with a wideband to see were your at and to make sure you have enough fuel. Take it from me...... i didnt do it a long time ago and i paid for it...... destroyed the whole motor...

Damn, if you get a good tire under there and cut say a 1.60 60' that's another 8/10's at the end of the 1/4 mile!!!! That puts you in the 11.2's to 11.3's!!! Thats awesome. Congrats.

Nice numbers kevin. If you want to use my ET streets let me know, I'm betting you could get a 11.5 or so on them.

with 3.73's all you're gonna do is break the tires loose more easily , i'd go up to a 3.42 or 3.23 and call it a day.

you should be safe with 7 lbs if you pulley down.

have fun!
