Default 80mm Pro-M on a 408 with 18psi?

Since Pro-M is making GM MAFs now and since my SD tune gets horrible mileage, I am considering getting an 80mm Pro-M for use as a blow-through MAF. Does anyone have any experience with Pro-M on GMs, or as blow-throughs?

BTW the 80mm is said to support up to 800hp.

It's not a maf problem, the ecm can't read that high. So you crutch it with a PE vs rpm tune with ls1edit...and you tune it too rich so it will not be lean on cold days. Unless Speed has tapped into a 3bar map sensor, etc. but I thought LPE was the only game in town for that.

Harlan is making over a 1000rwhp thru two mafs, I would guess they are 3.5 or 4.0" Pro-M units.

I believe Harlan is running two stock GM mafs actually. Extra electronics ARE needed for this, not as easy as plugging in two mafs.

His old setup was a single rescaled Pro-M with some fancy LS1Edit work...or whatever software he uses.

no expierence with gm pro-m's, but the ford Pro-M mafs seem to leave a lot to be desired lately. Back in the day when the 5.0's were popular, the Pro-M maf's were good, but lately i have been seeing questionable outputs from them, and normally have people convert to a drawthough setup with the oem meter, and it works much better.

Pro-M's for Stangs are a hit or miss on getting one to work right with your combo.Pro=M was suppose to send us out a 80mm MA over a year ago to test but it never came,so can't tell you how they work on GM's.

A 3 bar would be the way to go cause the PCm doesn't know what to do with these high MAF values. It would be cool to ahve a nice easy 3 bar to convert or adapt too, I am dreaming right now though.

I agree on the PE vs RPM though. Just tune it like a carb to be a little rich so when there is some super cold air it doesn't go lean.

Yaa, I've had Harlan talk to me too. It sounds like the teacher in Charlie Brown. mwua mwua mwua mwua.

I realize how dumb I am when I try to listen to him. " yeah I use a triple crossover with a pull down to a square wave convertor "

But I am definately impressed with the whole setup that the guys have accomplished. The Stenod crew has it going on. Harlan is a nice, smart, gifted guy, that doesn't know how to drive Canadian Beer.
