LOL, it was something to talk about anyway. Heres some fab work we in albany have been up to. Friends Nova swap project. Hasd a thread up in the past but it dissappeared.
Very Nice! I'm jealous of how much room you have to work with there . Unfortunately it's been a while since my last big project (the last two years have been absolutely crazy), but I have 3 big ones coming up soon... I'll probably post pictures of them once they start. Only one is speed related though (twin turbo setup for a grand cherokee. We are waiting on parts now... amazing how long that stuff takes to get in eh?)
And heres the frame.... BTW,, Twins on a Cherokee...thats just nuts..
Very nice! It definately makes life a lot easier when you just build everything yourself. I got so spoiled working on tube framed cars and trucks that I just get so frustrated every time I am working on my camaro. As for the twins on the cherokee... the project actually started as a fluke. My friend had a Ram pickup with a vortech supercharger that we were going to do a big-block swap... well, we now had a supercharged 360 left over... and his mother blew the engine on her high mileage Grand Cherokee... so we figured we'd build a sleeper. Thing kinda backfired on us though because right off the bat we were running bottom 13's, and with just a little tweaking got a dead consistent mid 12 second truck out of it... Being AWD it launches hard even on the street with just normal street tires... so it quickly beat much faster cars in street races... next thing you know, everyone around here knows about the truck. So, now it's a dead consistent 12.3 truck, and it just has a small blower on it with a stock longblock. Since it's sat like that for about 4 years now, we figured we'd take it to the next level. Built a forged low compression engine with ported heads, and we are building a twin turbo setup using 60-1's. Turbos are *supposedly* going to arrive next week... but we've been hearing that for the last month. Regardless, we both have other projects that we need to finish before we dig into the Grand Cherokee again, but the plan is to get it done before next season.
thats a friends car...it a pro-touring car to be.
As for the cherokee, the drivetrain can handle that in AWD? Wow. As for turbos, I get mine within 7-10 days evertime when I use Limit Engineering in Lake Havesieux. (SP?) Never took longer.
