Default What Size Intercooler to use for a Front Mount?

I'm looking to make a Front Mount intercooler setup on my LT1 Camaro and was wondering what size of intercooler to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx

You can fit anything under 12"x27" tank to tank if it's a side flow. 3.00" should handle most stuff under 600hp but you can fit a 3.5" or 4" core if need be.

My Spearco is like 28x12. It's 3 2-110 cores w/ top/bottom end tanks.

Thanx for the replies. I've been looking at some intercoolers on ebay. I'm not sure how good they are? Where would you recommend buying an intercooler from?

Thanks for the Pics. I have done a search and seen many of the threads with pics in them. I think yours is the first LT1 Car I have seen pics of. Thank you for posting them! If you have any others as you did the install I would love to see them. Lata, Ark

I don't know if I have anymore, but I can look. The setup is done, but there's no pics of it.

www.ls1speed.com has done a lot of work with Griffin to come u with intercoolers to fit LS1 and LT1 powered cars. Don't make the mistake of just getting something, my intercooler for example won't fit in a LT1 Camaro.

CALL SPEED INC.!!! seriously, that intercooler they have was custom ordered to be the biggest and baddest FMIC on the market for the Camaro's. not sure about the Firebirds, but i'm guessing you still have an SS judging by your name. it measures something like 30x15x4.5 THICK! AND....it's 40 inces across from tank to tank!!! only made for a single turbo, but anything can be done over there at Speed. all it takes is money and Tom will get on the phone with Griffin and set something up. the price is unbelievable too.......in a good way. i was very surprised it wasn't more, but it may go up since it says it's their intro price. "get it while it's hot" as they say! hope that helps.

later,
Dave

ps-when you go to their home page, go to the bottow and click on the word "Eliminator". it will take you to their hardcore section. definately worth spending some time drooling over.

Alot of people as well as myself, are using the OBX intercooler off of E-bay. I am almost through with the install on my '02 Formula. Pretty straight forward and will fit in the nose well. I think it is 31" tank to tank, 12" tall and 3" thick. Do a search on Ebay for OBX intercooler.

Well, the one I have is the EXACT same width as the 3-core ATI, so fitment problems should be nonexistant. I've got more than enough room under my front fascia. Mine ran me right around $650 if I remember. It's 3 2-110 cores welded together w/ custom end tanks ($50 option). Plus it's bar and plate design which I greatly prefer over tube & fin.
