I took my car out after it sitting for about a month....fired up right away, but still had the misfire......so I take it to my buddies shop and we swap the plugs and start it up.....it was still misfiring........we drove it just to make sure....so we bring it back, look over things, and notice that the belt on the tensioner pulley was skipped over a few ribs rubbing up agaisn't one of the drive pulleys....
I shut the car off, took a wrench to the bolt that holds that tensioner in place, pushed it back to get some belt slack and put it back to normal position, started the car up and the misfire was gone........my tension is set at 15, yellow to yellow.........I'm just wondering if any of you have had that happen before? Shouldn't there be enough tension on there to prevent the belt from wanting to jump at WOT...????
I took it for a blast or 10 after everything was set and man did it feel good......15psi consistently, no dust, etc.......rush hour traffic was in awe
I plan on taking the car out on a 2-3 week basis, instead of storing it........I'm too lazy
And I like the feeling of all this horsepower in the middle of winter

Brian,
Make sure it's straight...that usually only happens when it's not on straight.
Was it fine every single time you hammered it after that?

Yea, I'm already tempted to put more boost through this thing.....
I could step down to a 3.2" pulley, that would put me around 17psi.......get a 51.5" belt to go on it.......
But then.......I'll most likely need more injector.........and might as well do a BS3 while I'm doing that, and along with the converter I'm currently saving up for......
List NEVER ends.....
**** I don't even have a rollcage yet

are you sure the missfire wasn't caused by a bad coil wire ( the ones that plug into the side of the coils)? i had the same problem ( less the belt skippage) and couldn't trace the missfire till i stumbled accross a cut wire on one of the coils.
if you are worried about the belt tension, take it up a bit just to be safe.
and you think your car is a rush now, wait till you race a bike an beat them!

We checked all the wires, they are good.....
Nogo, I don't have the 3.2" on there yet......I'm running the 3.4", but if I want more boost, thats my next option![Happy](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_stretch.gif)
That will put the blower right around 70,000 max impeller speed.......its floating at 68,500 right now with where I shift

I'm still having this problem w/the belt "walking" on the spring tensioner......
Under WOT it will move over 1 or more ribs depending on how hard I whack it, now when the car is idling, this tensioner has some considerable wobble to it, this is normal because its a spring tensioner........I wonder what I should do to take out the slack or compensate for it......
any ideas people.......
I'm 100% sure this is why I can't keep a belt on past 3rd......

Bos, mine doesn't wobble? You can see the spring tensioner riding the belt up and down, but when I whack the throttle you can see the spring tensioner push down on the belt like its suppose to do....Are you still using your custom standoffs or Did you go back to the stock ATI ones and the SDCE washer/spacers? I'd use the SDCE/ATI stuff and go from there.
Still sounds like you are misaligned.

Bos, I never had this problem and I don't think Jeremy has either. It has to be either alignment or a bad component (Tensioner). Are you sure you tightened the plastic idler (bottomed out) before you loaded the belt on the tensioner. I did this backwards one time and caused a few problems but I caught it pretty quick and fixed it. Good luck let us know!

My SDCE is almost perfect. The only problem I have is the 4.0 pulley is slightly too big and ground off part of the outer rib. That can easily be fixed with a smaller pulley
. More boost
. Hopefully my stock bottom end don't

Well my belt still gets grooves in it from the middle 90mm idler, but the grooves are right in the middle of the belt now, so I know the assembly is aligned.....not sure about how the belt acts at WOT though....

Don't go by where the grooves are...if it was aligned, it wouldn't ride up...what shims are you using? Can you call us so we can help? I've left a message on your cell...
