Default sts boost question

How much boost do you guys think that I can run safely with this setup?

Stock bottom end
6.0L heads with MLS gasket estimated compression 9.1 to 9.3
gt67 turbo
Methanol
42lb injectors
255 fuel pump
boost referenced fuel pump booster
Ls1edit tune
Plus a lot of other stuff that doesn't pertain to the turbo setup. I blew a head gasket on the first setup probably due to the shaved heads, 11 to 1 compression so I swithced to the 6.0L heads and bought a big turbo cam. I am going to install the methanol injection soon and get a new tune and I want to know what you guys think on how high I can go with the stock bottom end. I was pushing 500 rwhp at 5.5 pounds of boost before but I want to turn up the boost to make up for the lost compression.

Be safe and stop at 8psi with a stock bottom end.

Well I hope you would be safe at at least 10 psi.

I am going to be running 8-9psi on the same exact setup with an FMIC(other than the meth) on my stock 5.3... but you have alot of other power adders than I do before the turbo, so that's a bit of a difference..

Thats why I'm thinking 8psi. He already made almost 500 at 5.5psi. I'm just thinking of what he will be making at the crank at 8psi and how will the stock rods and rod bolts take it.

I like no more than 550rwhp to be safe. The heads/cam will make the engine more efficient which means you will need less boost for the hp level.I would also go with an intercooler instead of Meth.

Why would you go with an intercooler instead of Meth? How much does it cost to fab in an intercooler on a TA? I know you can get the intercooler for about 300, how much does all of the piping cost and to get it installed?

I just thought of something else with running an intercooler. Can I run two boost settings with a electronic controller? Is it possible to tune for a high and low boost setting with an intercooler? I want to be able to run 5.5 pounds on the low setting and about 8 pounds on the high setting.

Intercooler is around $300 and piping is under $200.I charge $900-$1000 for everything installed.Meth is $500? and sucks if you run out.

Let's not look at boost pressure.Look at HP output for what you want to run.Thinking boost level is the #1 mistake alot of people make.

More boost equals more problems

Would anybody be willing to tell me what piping and elbows I would need to fit the obx intercooler and maybe where I could get them.
