Default Saw 2 Guys Garage Today!!!!!

I woke up at 7am (central) to watch 2 Guys Garage about the STS turbo kit. It looks like a very nice system.

It looks like they installed the basic system onto an EGR equipped LS1; no LS6 intake so must be 2000 or lower. (didn't mention year on show)

Here are the power numbers (increase) +140ft lbs torque +135hp with full boost at 2400rpm

ALL THIS ON ABSOLUTLY NO TUNING!!!!! THEY DID NOT USE A/F MONITORING ON THE DYNO RUN EITHER!

I saw no gauges installed with the system or mention of them either. But, you can only cram in so much on the show. Sucky thing is they play some gay *** music while on the dyno so you can't really hear the new sound the car makes all that well, but you can still hear it a little.

Overall, I still definately want to get this system more than ever.

If anyone wants the show I ripped it with my RADEON ALL-IN-WONDER and took out the commercials/BS. Its 262Mb.

I as well! I thought htat thes kits were hitting full boost at 3000 rpm maybe a little more, so is that a misprint or is it really hitting at 2400rpm. Everyone says these cars have lots of turbo lag and thats not a bad rpm

the dude in the show makes a good point when he says that, people are concerned with turbo lag in these cars but think about it when u turn the key as long as it take for the exhuast to come out the tailpipes the turbo is already spooling, so when ur on the gas that is how long it will take for the exhuast to get to the turbo

You can't get your foot to the floor and then off the gas without making 5 psi with one of those kits.

adding FI to a vehicle, without tuning, = foolish.

Running a dyno without a wideband = Very foolish.

Running a untuned vehicle on stock fuel system, no tuning, no wideband = glad its not my car.

i would also like to see the vid............

I agree, they should of at least mentioned that you when adding more air into any engine, a tune is definitely a necesary thing to maintain the engine form starving itself of fuel.....

foolish but i still want to see the vid and how they installed the turbo....being thinking about it but worried about road debri or water affecting the turbo, even with the filter cover.....

I believe the car has a pretuned PCM from Nelson Performance with a very basic but safe tune. Not 100% sure of it but Erik (TurboBerserker) knows all about it.

they specifically mentioned that they did not dyno tune the vehicle. Nor did they ever mention anything about an ECU swap.

I pretty sure they said it wasn't tuned.. Because they were saying there is more hp to be made if the car was tuned. I could be wrong.
