Default Power of the T-76 GST PTK kit on a '97 cobra

If anybody is interested, PTK got some results on their new 96-98 cobra kits with the T-76 GST turbo, a/a intercooler option. This is on a low compression, 285 ci (or what ever a 30 over bore gives a 281) motor, FAST ect. He ran out of fuel on the 22 psi run. The guy who owns the car is on this board and goes by Boosted Toy, or something like that.

Anyway, here’s what he put down

10 psi---548 hp, 545 ft/lbs
16 psi---733 hp, 696 ft/lbs
21.9 psi—822hp 788 ft/lbs

http://www.proturbokits.com/

Considering our cars USUALLY put down a substantial amount more power per psi, it will be interesting to see how strong a LS1 with one of these kits will be.

Later,
Dave

I'd like to see the actual dyno graph, to see where this power comes on at.

Wow, go PTK... well I have that same turbo sitting here beside me awaiting my k-member so i can re-do my kit..... so hopefully soon I will have some new numbers.
As well as Ls1's respond to boost.... you should see some crazy numbers with a tubular kit and this turbo.

Tell me about it. i think it was pretty tough for them to get the 3". I know they were worried about not having to hack up the car to put this thing on. I guess they don't really know what we would do to get some big power numbers

unless youre looking for more than 800-1000hp, 3" can handle it. im pretty sure one of the top mustang turbo guys was running into the 8's on a 3" downpipe.

3" is crap, i wouldnt want that crap, sure you might be able to get awaywith it for a while but the back pressure will eventually kill your engine.
if your going for a effient system that will hold up and not hold you back go big as you can.
lot of guys now are looking for over 800 so a 3.5" minumum will do, but 4" are prefered. even the 8 second mustang guys will agree. bigger is better

A little hacking never hurt anyone. Maybe they'll release a track kit with a few upgrades that require some cutting.

Hey Smoken,

Remember Guys, This is a "STREET KIT"!

IF you fellas want a 4", 5", 6" Down pipe. We can make it. No body knows a pro/race
car like us.

But that is the difference between a street kit and a race kit.

We picked up 60 RWHP going from 3"-4" on a friends ITS GT80R car. Lot quicker spool too. 4" is worth it on a street car.

When you guys say downpipe, are you refering to the pipe that goes into the turbine, or the pipe that goes out of the turbine to the exhaust system?
