Default ATI Procharger: P-1SC vs D-1SC

Ok, I searched but just got 11ty billion responses about nothing......what is the difference between the 2 ATI's? I have looked all over their site and it doesn't seem to say......now, I am a moron, so this could be why I cannot find the answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go D-1SC.. Plain and simple... It flows 18% more than the P-1SC-1... The D-1SC is a better blower than the P1.. Some people say the P1 has quicker flow at lower RPMS.. I say "I don't think so"... THe P-1SC-1 i feel is a more "peaky" blower than the D1. The max rpms of the D1 62,000 rpms. The P1 is 65,000 rpms... The internal workings on the P1 is a little smaller than the D1 which is way you can spin a little higher.. But the D1 does out flow the P1 across the board... The D1 is a better blower, slightly larger internal workings, and flows more air... Go D1 and dont look back...

Just my 2 cents..

So basically it (the D-1SC) flows better/more air? Does it matter that I am thinking of putting it on a 383 TPI 3rd Gen?

Does not matter.... Go D-1SC and don't spin it as hard.. 383 TPI motor, still flows well and the D-1SC is a good blower for that motor.. It is worth the extra 300 or so buck from ATI to get the D1... Plain and simple..

I'm getting things together to have a 357 CI LT1 built for forced induction and I initially was going to go with the D1SC but I think now, I will step up and go with the F1. I think if you want to make any serious HP, stay away from the P1.

The D1 gives you more room for future expansion because you won't max out the blower, especially if you're putting it on a stroker. The D1 will make for power on less boost because it flows more. This helps with belt slippage too (along with some Reichard pulleys), becaue you don't have to use as much boost to make the same power.

Anybody know how much a new d1sc is roughly? I have a p1sc that I'm giving to my cousin so there will be no "trade in" or "upgrade". I'd prefer polished, but satin will do just fine.

See Page 7

Polished D-1SC with the upgraded 3 core intercooler for a 99 4.8 Silverado is $5,096.00 (plus tax, shipping, etc I would presume)

Retail price from ATI on a satin D1SC is $2,599. Add $200 for polishing.

Thanks, I meant just the head unit though. If it retails for $2600 through procharger, does that mean I might be able to get it cheaper through an ATI dealer?

Sorry, my bad........I just wasn't thinking (not enough caffeine yet).
No reason to think you wouldn't be able to find it for less through a GP or a sale at an ATI dealer....

Yes, you should be able to get it significantly cheaper through a dealer.

I made good power with my Maxed out P-1SC-1.. 621RWHP...

The P-1SC-1 is a great blower, but just not as good as the D-1SC..

Yeh, I don't doubt that it is a good unit, but I am wanting to run 15 to 18 pounds of boost and I think that it would be too much for the P1. I hear a lot of guys say that they have a hard time getting about 12 pounds out of a P1. Also, if I am going to spend the money, I would rather spend a little more and go bigger than what I need and have some room to grow. I have also heard that the D1 and F1 will spool faster at lower RPM's.

How much boost were you running through the P1SC you had?

I got one not too long ago and it is about the second or third one that I have over the past few years and they have hardly changed them. I wish they would do a new one that would be a little more infomrative.

First one for me........gave me enough info for what I need..........but then again, I am fairly stupid and don't need complicated stuff.
