I am looking for confirmed track times and dyno numbers for the STS Turbo on LS1 engines and with manual transmissions. My friend that does tuning told me i shouldnt get one and that they dont do too hot, so i wanted to see what they where doing before i decide.

I put down 457rwhp and 460rwtq with long tube headers 3" y-pipe, stock motor/fuel system/valvetrain running 5psi with the cats on and no LS1 EDIT tunning. I really like it...it REALLY moves, but to every man his own.

Alot of ppl dont like the STS kits, i think most of them because its not conventional...but then again most dont own one . Best money i have ever spent.
It gets ALOT of attention. I have actually had ppl pull me over to get out and look at it on the side of the road and ask how it works...no lie. The performance shop that did the install said the same thing as your friend and they didnt believe it would do anything.

Well they where pretty suprised when they put it on the dyno and it put down those numbers...they where almost as excited as i was lol. I called East Side Performance one day to ask about some price quotes on some stuff i am going to get done very soon and the man on the phone (sorry i forget his name ) said he tuned quite a few of them and they are very solid kits and they run very well.

i can go on and on but i tend to stay out of STS threads because its the same old BS and bitching usually by the same ppl every post talking about performance this and numbers that...when the performance and numbers have already been posted. HAHA i remember when ppl on this board said it wouldnt go over 430 something rwhp...i put down 457...at 5psi. Then they said it wouldnt make 500...theres a few ppl making WAY over 500 i think theres someone making 600-700 somehwere in there. Then it was "oh theres no track times...isnt there a truck with this kit on it thats pulling off some insane times....a truck...yea. Just the same old crap and i really dont feel like arguing because its the type of thing that no matter how much you argue and how much proof you bring out they just dont want to believe it so...whatever i dont really care...Is it a hardcore race kit...no, is it a pretty bad *** street setup...hell yea. Like i said, to every man his own and i like it and thats all that counts well its really late and i was drinking at my buddies house so i dont fell like thinking anymore lol

~Tom
EDIT: if you have any questions my AIM name TDSS02 feel free cause i dont feel like comming back in here and have to put on my waders and dodge all the BS and name calling that will be directed at me for posting this. Its kinda funny its LS1Tech...its here for ppl to share ideas and new products, old products a place to ask questions and get help from ppl who know more then you do but everytime its just ppl jumping down your throat all the time...thats why mostly i just read, learn and try to sort through all the BS and bitching...sorry all not in a good mood right now i had to vent and that was really bothering me

Does anyone have track times he asked in the original post and all I ve seen is dyno times any track times on a car that didnt have thousands of dollars in work done to it before the STS. I have only seen one on a mildly modified car and it was laughable, but did make good dyno numbers.

Well like i said, I am not sure what to go with. I do know for sure that im going FI and not a supercharger. But im still trying to wade through all the stuff and find out what kit would be best for me and what i wanna do. So I am still looking for some track numbers, and i know it doesnt mean the world(these numbers). But may help give me an idea. And I am only interested in numbers on Manuals. And your numbers Black Camaro are pretty good. But interested in the time slips. But I do a good amount of street racing, so maybe ET's or quite as important.

Slicks, a good rear and and a 2-step is all you're going to need.

What I don't get is people bitch about track #s when people are obviously making great HP with them. As long as you have a dyno sheet in front of your face you should be able to figure out wether said car is going to be able to run quick or not. ETs are more than HP/TQ. It's about how the car is set up. Can the car be launched hard? Is it set up to get max boost off the line? Where is the car set to shift at? can the tranny or clutch hold durring those shifts? (most are having trouble stock). Those are the quesitons you should be asking.

The JL Turbo car ran good times, the GTO from Dez Racing ran good times, I run good times. Why are we different from the other STS cars? Because we set the cars up to run in the 1/4mile. We didn't just slap a turbo on and call it a day. Although I'll admit all 3 of us hard issues with shifting due to crap stock trannies or clutches. LOL

There are at least 4 STS cars that are gonna pull some sick #s this spring that I know of, not including my new combo in the truck which should put me ahead of quite a few F-bodies in here

Quit being a homo Mike! Slap some 33" snow tires on that thing with a 10" lift kit and run anyway. I swear you STS guys will make up the lamest excusses.... 29" of snow bah! Just drive the bitch in reverse and the turbo will melt the snow before it gets to your tires!

I meant the 6.0L for me. It's gonna take the extra cubes and the nitrous to make up for our HUGE weight differences. :p

I figure I can get mid 11s out of the motor and turbo once dialed in then it'll take the nitrous to squeek into the 10s.

The link for the video didnt work, so i couldnt see what it did. But if im getting it right that it had a trap of 119, then that isnt impressing me much. Plus it was an auto, im trying to find T56's. And all the claims from JL are just that you'll gain a second on the quater. If i get this kit and only gain a second with over 450rwhp, i would be very, very upset. But if they are talking about a 1 second gain on a bone stock car, no suspension, tires, or other mods, then thats not too bad. But i still need some numbers.

Is this going to be a daily driver for you? Or all race?
Noticed you were in Cali, the STS is going through CARB Cert. The P1-SC is the only other FI that I know of that will have this. (Although this is all for not if your building for race).

On the street don will need a new paint job if he dares line up on me. Hes gonna need his 402, procharger and his nitrous just to hang. Give you an idea of the power I will be making. Isnt he nice though, he builds mine faster then his own. AT the track...forget about it, hes the F'n man
