Default Obx Damaged?

Hey guys I just got my obx intercooler in a minute ago and it looks like it has been all over the world. There are a few dents in it and one of the mounting tabs has been pushed back a little. Is there gona be a problem with this? Need to know if I should try and get another one or not worry about it. Thanks

Billy

i ordered one off ebay and was disgusted in the method they used to ship it... UPS already throws my **** around... but when I got my OBX it looked like crap. It'll still hold air... but its not pretty. Those asses need to ship their stuff right.

Yea I hear ya! I bought it brand new. How can i test it to make sure it will hold air? Do i just need to block one end off and compress the other to see if it will hold pressure? If so whats the best way to do it? Thanks

Yeah my the cheesy cardboard was real thin on mine buy I got lucky and it was in great condition when I pulled it out of the box. The shipper put flat pieces of cardboard on each side of the core to protect it from abuse, glad he did too.

The shipping method is similar on all of em. Ever once in awhile I get one that is in its cheesy cardboard box that is packed inside of alarger box with shredded newspaper. Kinda rare though and I have ordered about 10+ of these things. LOL

I can't advise on how to check if it holds air but I will say be VERY careful how much you pressurize it as I doubt it is built to hold a ton of pressure.

Cool I checked it out real good last night and didnt see anywhere that it looked like it would have a leak or a problem. Just cosmetic flaws that should be covered up with the bumper cover. I did close one end up and blow into the other and about popped all the veins in my head!! So I guess there shouldnt be anything wrong with it. We'll see!!
Thanks

Yea its pretty big. Do a search for them and you'll see a few pictures of them on some cars. And supposably the air temps are really good (close to ambient temps), but I havnt seen any dyno comparisons yet.

Why is there a nitrous solenoid in front of your IC?

Ya, good spot for a purge. I was curious if it was a CO2 for your IC.

OBX is a shity ricer company and sells knocks off parts, they can be compared to APC and such things. But the are trying to make a change and go for better performance parts. Im a DSM owner and on our board some one asked about this intercooler and ever one freaked saying its junk. If it works then great, but i would have bought a jonhyracer frontmount high quilty and nothing but great reviews by most dsm owners. Thats the one im getting the next few weeks good luck
