Default Michael... 2005 List?

Are you doing a 2005 list?

I think we need to have a separate list for cars that are C5R powered... What do you guys think?

C5R is the same bolt patern and cylinder center to center? I don't see why it would get seperated when you can get a 4.125 block and do pretty much the same thing.

With the new Callies block, LS2 , and LS7 on the way it`s not that big of an advantage. Also as a number of engine builders on here have said , for the real big power(900+ HP) cars an LS iron block is the way to go.

As long as its LS"X" based why not? Smells like a witch hunt..
Now a shop category is something to think about...seperates the privateer(small cash) and the professional(big cash and sponsors)
Plus it'll be fun to see the shops go at it....sportsman type stuff no wars please to keep things friendly.

I totally agree here, we all like to see what FBODY cars are capiable of, but shop cars are not real inspiring IMO.

somehow I don't think John is talking about the c5r block...since he (and everyone else) knows that it doesn't add power on its own. I think he is refering to c5r heads.

I dont think enough cars are actually running the C5R to warrant a separate catagory all to themselves. If Harlan's 348 aluminum block is running just about the same speed as Duke's larger 387 C5R, I dont see too much of an advantage there. Keep them all the same.

Now when you talk about shops that's a different thing all together, and could create another predicament, in that not all the shops are actually a 'shop'. Duke and AP are big time money driven shops, while STENOD Racing is just some buddies that do it in their spare time, and work on their cars whenever they get a chance to. STENOD's shop is a nice place to work on cars, but to compare it to Hardcore, AP, or W2W would be ludacris. So the shop idea may have a flaw, but I'm sure it could be worked out somehow.

who cares...it's just a list. I think I can figure out where my car fits in without the "shop car"..."c5r"...etc. Just list the combos and go from there. What happened to the old list that I think ls1.com had where it was like a searchable database? That'd be cool if you want to compare..tranny...weight..etc

I think a shop car is defined as a car owned by a shop (Paid for by the shop) with the intent to make money by showing the shops poteintial. For example Harlans car may have been built at the STENOD shop, but it does not seem that it is used for advertising, and harlan paid for it. When you look at other shop cars, they are real shop cars, paid for by the shop, owned by the shop (or shop owner) and used to promote the shops buisness.

I know you mean well, but I have no problem comparing the works of Stenod to any major ls1 shop out there. I mean they built one of the quickest and they've done everything to the car. How many of those other shops have done all the chassis, engine, turbo fabrication, and everything else all themselves? Probably not too many.

I shopped around to a lot of places for chassis work and after seeing a bunch of Stenod's work and combined with their fair pricing, I had to give them a shot and it was worth it. They aren't the shadetree mechanics that a lot of people on the board try to make them out to be to provide hope or what not lol. They definitly have some real talent.

should just have one list, just note on them if its a shop car, c5r block etc.

and since when is Stenod a real shop, i thought they were just a group of friends who work on cars together.

and what the fupa is a callies block

Since C5R heads fit on a LSx block and vice versa whats the difference, if someone bolts a set of 18 degree non-GM heads on a LT1 its still an LT1.

Where do you draw the lin at whats a shop car and whats not a shop car. For people like me who dont have a big garage and a 'crew' to help, except my wife, anything seems like a shop car to me. What if a car is entirely bult at a 'real shop' but paid for by the owner of the car - is that a shop car or home built?

Its a quickest forced induction LS1 ET list, not a shop vs home built vs money spent list.
