Default Auto and FI...what stall you running?

I have a Vig 3000 stall and I am wondering if this is OK on a car with 560rwhp. I blew my tranny so if I were ever to upgrade, this would be the time to do it. Just looking for some opinions.

Also, I have never had an auto and I really don't understand them all that well. What sort of benifits would I have going to a larger stall?

Thanks,

Derek

I've got a CAS Twin Turbo on the way with a built Maximum Evil Race Prepped Tranny and a Vigilante 3200 Stall... The Vig's are underrated so I'd say your stalling around 3200-3400. Keep the stall and rebuild your tranny!!

STS Turbo 500+rwhp in the truck and a Yank TT3000 stall. With the turbo it actually stalled up around 3500 or so due to massive TQ gains over stock when I originally bought the converter. Was using the stock 4L60E.

The new unit will be a custom PI unit to handle the 600+rwhp I'm gonn abe making. I will keep the stall in the 3200rpm range. Will be using a 4L80E.

On my Vortech S-Trim'd 87' Mustang GT (351w) I ran an Art Carr 3500stall.

The biggest thing is to figure out where you really start to make power and choose your stall from there.

I agree 4L60Es are teh GHEY!!!! I have blown too many up. Some have good luck but I many more don't. LOL

I'm running a BTE prototype converter with a big lockup clutch (650 hp rating). Approx stall, 3200! Very streetable! Had a bigger BTE stall (about 3800-4000, man did it hit hard) but had it lowered for better street use. Still pulling some 1.5 60' times with the lower stall.

Sad part is i'm just over 1000mi on the new block that's been in there since last winter All the pulley, cog, belt, fuel, tuning, loosing job, IC crap, really put the hold on breaking in the new engine. Now shes breaking in just fine

I am not sure what version, but I would imagine its the most current....anyways I dyno'd 561rwhp and 466torque (my cam is killing me)
this was at 9 lbs of boost and on pump gas.

Are those locked or unlocked dyno numbers?

Your torque is pretty low, was the graph pretty peak like a mountain?

Unlocked...no it was really steady, not peaky at all. I honestly think I would be around 525 on torque with a new cam.

What cam swap? Must be a neat cam if you are going to pick up about 45 ft lbs of tq.

I just picked up a Yank Extreme 3400. Suppose to be recommended for boost cars.
