Default Anyone running a pair of GT30R's?

What are your impressions? I did a search, found a couple people discussing them but no hard evidence. I'm considering a pair of them for my LS1 RX7 due to packaging reasons. They are offered as a T3 hotside with an optional 1.06 A/R. With that A/R, Garrett claims a 26 LBS/Min @ a 2.0PR through the turbine housing. Mind you, this one per bank. To put it in perspective, a single GT42 (comparable to a PTE76) with a T4 hotside flows ~40 LBS/Min through the hotside @ the same PR. The reason I am focusing on hotside, is I'm concerned with choking on these. Size-wise, they looks like they will fit quite nicely and not require monster piping either. As far as goals go, I'm shooting for 750~800 ATW. Engine is forged 347, 9.0:1 CR, AFR 225's with an LS6 intake. I haven't settled on a cam yet but I'm leaning towards a reverse pattern, mild duration with a 114 LSA. I figured I would bounce that off of AFR and see what they think. Thoughts?

Thanks,

Ryan

I personally think these will be alittle too small but they are great for spool up. How about the GT3040R? Or even the GT35R? I can get you amazing deals on garrett turbos. Contact us

I'm not familar with the GT3040R, I didn't see it listed with Garrett. I'm guessing it's a hybrid? What are the specs?

Thanks,

Ryan

if it does make 26 lb/min per turbo or 52 lbs/min for the pair, it will not meet your goals of 750-800rwhp
youll need turbos that can pump out a total of 70-80lbs/min

if im reading what your saying right on air they put put.

my old setup was putting out 58lbs/min and i was making around 512rwhp on the mustang dyno.

Maybe my post was a bit confusing. The 26 LB/Min rating was on the turbine (Hot) side. My concern was choking it up on the hot side by utilizing the smaller T3 housing. I figured a 1.06 A/R would help overcome this (hence the reference to hot side flow). As far as what they flow on the compressor (cold) side, they will do 40 LBS/Min (2.0 PR or 1 Bar of boost) each @ 72% efficiency.

Thanks,

Ryan

oh ok thanks for clearing that up for me.
doesnt the CAS use around a T3 size? and the incon i would think it would be close to that, as it was some special flanged turbo.

Standard incon used t28 on the hotside and a T04B on the compressor side. Both housings were machined out some.

It looks like it would be fine and if that size fits but you could go bigger in the future start small. It only money the gov will make more. .lol

I have actually been in conversations with a large some of tubro mfg's and techs... One thing seems to be the same across the board.. They all have a different opion and they all told me the same thing.. You just donot know if it will work until you put it on. I kinda found that a little interesting.

GT30R's will be good for an 800 RWHP goal. Most i've seen on a single 30R was 520 WHP, so you'll be gravy.

Will a gt30r bolt up in place of a t28? Also what do these normally cost?

AFAIK GT30R's only come with T3 flanges. They run around 1200 a pop. The largest T28 flanged turbo made is probably a GT3071R. They will do 450-475 WHP, and again are in the 1200-1300 dollar range each. They will require mods to an Incon kit because they use a large compressor housing with a 4" inlet, if they will even bolt up.
