That said my 98 Formula should be done in time its getting a 25.2 cage, the 382 motor rebuilt w/new AFR 225s, the tranny was just rebuilt by Century, coverter restalled+rebuilt. If I can get the cage certified in time I would like to run this car in Commerce . I know they tech fairly strict at Atlanta dragstrip and would like to run my street driven car, will there be exception for your event or is it manditory for 9 sec 700hp and 822hp street cars to be NHRA legal?

This is open to Pontiacs, and they don't have to be F1 cars. From a personal standpoint, if I am going to photograph at the track all day, it's more challenging to catch wheels up action, especially when some sort of a power adder is thrown into the mix. In regards to NHRA rules, we have to abide by the tracks tech rulings. Running 9's without the safety equipment mandatory is a legal liability for the magazine and the track. At more than one private event a participant has sent in paperwork saying they will run a 10.x and promptly run out a 9.x. The tracks jump down our throats, like we are supposed to have known. Run hard but run safe!

One of your own just got approval for a feature. Now all I have to do is break the good news to him. That brings the count to two and both gentlemen get to run at the Shootout, even though their cars will be traditional features. Here's a hint, it's a Hawk and it uses TT LPE power! Send the apps in gentlemen (and ladies), the deadline is approaching and your odds of hitting the lottery are pretty good.

I would need chassis certification but the car is all there NHRA-wise.

TTT, applications are due in the 13th, so get those applications completed and mailed in. If you are in a dire time crunch and can't complete everything, call me up to discuss as sometimes I can get approval with a few pics and the basic combination (with the promise that the full details will be completed by the event date).

For those of you who can't complete in time, just contact me offline when you complete and I will find out at that time what the editor has scheduled for Shootouts. He usually covers each region of the Continental US at least once a year. For those folks who are ready but haven't applied, please do so. Right now the Classic Pontiacs are running away with the entries and we need more diversity. Don't get me wrong, I love 66-67 GTO's. but the late model enthusiast needs to have equal representation.
