Default help-25 psi w-98 computer

I was wondering if the 98 computer would be able to be tuned for high boost with no availability of the hp tuners 2 or 3 bar setup. I would probably use 75 or 60 pound high impedance injectors. I have herd it will be hard to tune for boost with the 98 computer ,is this true or is it possible to do it the old fashion way. thanks

supposedly the 98 ECU is different from the 99 + years but you should still get away with it like im going to do.im selling a set of 60# injectors if your interested.pm me.

Your best bet for running a speed density 2 bar setup is going with megasquirt for your fuel control and using the stock computer for timing via hp tuners or whatever program you like. Do a search on the board and it should give you a good amount of information. If you're handy with a soldering iron you can build it yourself and save a good amount of money, otherwise i think it's around 250 bucks already assembled and tested.

Im going the same route once the finances are in place.

At that kind of boost things go wrong quickly. Personally, I would splurge for a good aftermarket computer.

If you are planning on going turbo, it is going to be tough to develop proper boost/fuel maps with a system like megasquirt. JMO.

Check this out.. http://www.efilive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1723

It mentions having the bootloaders for the 98's on 5/31 which I think means it can program the pcm now. Just something you should look into since it could be something to look forward to, if not now, soon..

THat's strange - on parish's truck it took us all of 20 minutes to have a VE map, tuning with a simple wideband. I've done Gen 7 DFI a few times, and thought megasquirt was quite a bit simpler and more intuitive, to accomplish the exact same thing. I guess opinions will vary - but I can build you a VE map that will start and run your car, if you like, and help you tune it over the phone... it's a whole lot easier to do than HPTuners or LS1Edit, and accomplishes *exactly* the same thing as a FAST or DFI, and nearly the same features as a BS3.

98 cars the pcm stops hz at 11,250 compared to 12k.

from then on you will have to add fuel on your own which would be a ton for 25#

i reccomend bs3.

also your injector choice won't support 25psi either unless your heads are really crappy.
