Default Turbo up and running

Hey guys,
Just thought I'd let you know that I finally have my set-up running. I added an intercooler, turbo (rear mount) fuel pump (340 walbro). So far it sounds mean and is VERY responsive to the throttle hit. I can't wait till Jason can fit me in to tune her up. Wer'e hoping for 550hp at the rear wheels. I also added a catch can for the pvc system, hope I plumbed it correctly

Follow this link, it will give some pictures. I used the OBX intercooler off e-bay with a masterpower T70 and .68 AR housing from Hosea. Oiling I used a tilton differential pump. very easy set-up that way. I was smiling from ear to ear when I finally cranked it and heard the turbo

Thanks Hosea, I can't wait to get it tuned now and on the dyno to see what it is capable of. I'm also excited to see how the .68 housing works. I think you made the right choice.

Are you having a problem with oil pooling back into the turbo from the return or feed line? I built a rear mount like yours and it works great except for that problem. It's very messy when I start it in the morning if I don't run the pump for a few minutes. It dumps about 1/2 cup oil out of the turbo.

I'm installing spring loaded check valves in the feed and return to see if that solves it.

No problem yet, I've only run it a couple of times but no smoke at all. I have the pump wired through a relay so that it turns on with the fuel pump.

How much boost you going to run. I'd think you would hit more than 550rwhp with that setup. Let us know though when it hits the dyno.

My goal is to hit 550RWHP, I really don't want to push it past the 8-10 lb area because that seems to be the area where people can run a stock engine with a good tune and not have issues. When I do pop it though my plan right now is to get a short block from LPE's and then up the boost. Only problem then is the tranny I will hopefully get my home computer back soon then I will get more pictures up. BTW, do you have to run a vaccum line back to the waste gate for it to open properly? I guess this will show my ignorance but oh well!

I can relate to that. I drove my truck for the first time yesterday with the turbo. Had a grin from ear to ear. I thought I would miss the whine of the old roots supercharger. NOT. The whistle of the turbo sounds much better.
