Default Re-Tune with smaller pulley?

Will I need to retune if I put on a smaller pulley?

I have a 4'' on now, and seeing 4lbs of boost. I want to put a 3.7 pulley on.

Obvisously you just increased the amount of boost going in so you'd want to increase the amount of fuel going in too. How much more boost will the 3.7 give you? Do you have something to tune with or do you have someone do it for you?

yeah bro, you will need to tune. im not sure how much more boost that will give you but you may need bigger injectors, maybe a fuel pump. you'll need to address fueling and timing curves...

I have the fuel system (SVO 42's/walboro).

I wanting a little more than 4lbs, but I was originally scared to go above 5. I think a 3.7 will give me 6-7lbs

My tuner is 3hrs away. :-( But he is worth the drive.

Thanks!

You're intercooled right? What else are you running? You might just be able to add in fuel to be safe, but to make max and safe power you'd need to get it tuned in.

If you drive the car hard with the new pulley on there and no new tuning it will go... I know i did it.... tuned for 7 psi and swaped to a smaller pulley and saw 11 psi..... same pump and injectors as you and when the motor did go..... we pulled the heads and it was a big mess... detination like crazy.... 4 holes on 4 different pistons and my spark plugs were green... meaning i was way lean..... that was a $$$ mistake that could of been stopped if i would of just drove the 2 1/2 hrs to my tuner..... but that history now.....

U will need larger injectors than the 42lbs. I maxed my 42lbs around 530rwhp with 7psi. Good luck.

As a point of reference, I have a p1sc and HAD a 4.00" pulley making 11lbs. I recently put a 3.6" on and it jumped to 16lbs.

yikes!! 4'' pulley was 11lbs? 4'' pulley on my D1 was only 4lbs.

I dont think 3 more lbs of boost is going to give me 130 more hp. I would be scared of the bottom end then.

this is only possible if your crank pulley is bigger then the 5-3/4 " pulley that comes w/ the procharger kit...yours is bigger right?

Yup running 58-60psi. The Duty Cycle was around 120% at 6000-6200rpm seeing 7psi.
