Poll: My Stock Bottom End Lives With ## RWHP
Post up with the power level that your stock internals have . To try and keep things comparable, post dynojet numbers for rwhp... in other words, if you have mustang dyno numbers you can go ahead and inflate them a bit (ie 500 mustang rwhp = 550 dynojet rwhp).

I am doing the same thing. I am going to say mine will live at 525 RWHP with a GOOD tune. I also put the 6.0L heads on. So we will see. I have seen some take it rather well and some that dont. It all depends. IMO were on borrowed time on a stock bottom end. My plans are just to get forged pistons (coated),callies connecting rods, arp studs, and hell fire rings. But right now I am going to run it with the stock stuff. Due to the fact I am tired of waiting. Ive spent a good amount of $ and have nothing but parts to show for it. Good luck.

500rwhp on a bone stock 4.8, the valve covers have never been off. this is thru a 4l80e and tcase and on a mustang dyno.
2nd example. 6.0 with cam, springs, head studs and rod bolts, so the botom end was stock other than a set of rod bolts. 640rwhp on a dynojet thru a 4l80e and tcase.
dont let it detonate and i think 700+rwhp on any ls1based motor especialy if you are talking a car, dynojet and 6 speed.

poll response
I voted 600-633, and i did 612rw and 519 tq on a mustang dyno, with meth so i dont know where im at on a dynojet. I do know that vipers that i have run into are very slow, and never go for a second round. Im sure theres a killer waiting around the corner somewhere though. My timing has been bumped and i got some detonation, then i switched to sonoco 100 unleaded, and noticed a fair power increase, how much i ??? .. MY uneducated guess would be around 650 or more. It felt alot stronger though mid to top.. Zero issues, and im hard on it. Zero detonation now ever even after repeated runs back to back.

Put down 577rwhp on a Dynojet seeing 8psi on the boost gauge at 6500rpm. LS6 heads, Hot Cam, SLP LT Headers, 42lb injectors, Walbro fuel pump... everything else is stock. Have about 3,000 miles on the setup... so far so good.

Thanks to everyone for their responses... maybe one thing that people could comment on via replies to this thread:
"I trashed my stock internals/bottom end on XX rwhp, and the cause was..."
Many of the threads that I've read, both on LS1tech and other sites, are of the general opinion that 550 rwhp (dynojet) and under is safe on the stock bottom as long as a professional tune is used and no detonation is detected.

my $.02, a very long time. i pushed my nearly stock 6.0 every single day for about 6 months and finialy blew it up with a nitrous mishap. i am talking 30+dyno runs, 30+ 1/4 mile track runs, 300+ runs on the street, countless times flooring it on the way to work just for the fun of it. 10sec's ET at 4800lb's with that kind of durability says a lot for how strong these motors are.
if you let it detonate it will blow within seconds. if you feed it plenty of fuel and keep it from detonating it will last a long time. i log anytime i am pushing it and once i find the limit of the fuel i turn it back a little and then drive it.

a good tune is key but even still the ringlands have their threshold limit so if you're making close to 500 regardless if an a4 or m6 be happy with it, that's a lot of power and will hold off most cars on the street. But if you're gonna try and push the edge just make sure you have the funds and a spare car to drive when your hot rod is down.
There is no doubt that you can do 550-570 with heads/cam and forced induction on a stock bottom end.

Yeah Parish is right...500 is low...the thing is most guys running this w/ stock bottom ends are using blowers....maxing out around 10 psi.....w/ a turbo setup pushing 12 to 14lbs i think 600 could be held on a stock bottom end for a long time....my opin.

I pulled 540 just a couple a weeks ago, and we are going to do some more tuning and my mech. is saying we should be around 575-590. I am a completly stock ls1 with the rest in my sig.
