Default weiand roots type superchargers

i have a 2002 z28 and i am wondering if the roots type will fit on the 2002. the catalog says that it will only work on the 1998 to 2001 models but i imagine that there isnt much difference between a 2001 and a 2002 so will that supercharger work on my camaro?

no you don't have to do any mods to the short or heads or anything. You can just strap it on. I'd get a magna charger. Tony I think has one. Nineball here on the boards. He's the guy you should talk to. you have to do the tune right. enough fuel and less timing. Get that straight and you'd be ready to go. what's the purpose of your car?

Whoa, whoa, whoa...be careful here. I believe you have to cut the cowl for a roots blower to work on an fbody.

How the hell you gonna fit a roots blower on an F-body with no mods? Hell the damn transmission dipstick tube barely clears the hood/cowl let alone a blower LOL.

the purpose of my car is just for street and show i would like to run low 12's MAYBE high 11's i'm not sure yet. yes i would have to get a new hood if i was to get that type of supercharger, i have just been told that thazt supercharger is one the best applications for that type of engine.

It's actually the worst for the application if you don't have slicks or suspension mods. That much TQ at low RPMs if fun for part throttle but sucks if you are trying to race on street tires. A centrifugal is easier to launch due to it's linear HP curve..

treydies - there is a detailed post regarding a roots blower for fbodies. It's located here in the internal forum. I suggest you find that and do some research. The blower kit that is offered (or soon to be offered ) is non-intercooled and you'll have to mod the cowl for it to fit.

IMO...a roots type blower is the WRONG blower for a LS1...especially non-intercooled.

Thanks to everyone for their help and suggestions about the weiand. I am still researching other options for superchargers, such as vortec and powerdyne. If there are any other suggestions anyone has, please feel free to let me know.

i have been told that getting a turbo for an eight cylinder car is hard and requires a lot of modification, but i am a rookie to this game and dont really know the ends and outs of the engine and its capabilities perhaps you could enlighten me on the subject or maybe point me in the correct direction where i can learn about it. thanx
