Help with High Boost? Only getting an extra pound?

Default Help with High Boost? Only getting an extra pound?

Well hear is what I got. LT1 with STS kit - Meth injection on High boost. High boost kit and meth kit came from STS. My Low boost is set to 8lbs and the High is adjustable threw the regulator. I have added a Tail BOV. Hear is what I got going on?

Everyhting is cool at low boost - when I go to High boost is where the problem starts. Seems like no matter how much I adjust the reg for the High boost I can only get aboult an extra pound or so of boost?

I used this system B4 I installed the BOV and it all worked great. Could the BOV be causing the problem? I have the boost signal comming from up front from the Intake and its T'ed with one line going to the BOV and the other going to the wast gate.

Not sure if thats enoughf info? I can add that on low boost it seems SOLID at 8lbs and when I go to High it seems sorta steady as well It just wont go up much above 9lbs?

My BOV is doing something similair right now, I can't build anything over 6 lbs. I took the BOV off and made a solid cap to go where the BOV was. Now the car will build some boost. Hopefully this will help.

what kind of turbo are you using? you could cimply be at the max flow of the turbo...

Is it possible that your meth injection is lowering charge temp so far as to decrease boost pressure? Is your BOV prior to the meth nozzle in the intake path?

Vacuum problem, Ark. I had the same trouble from using a bigger diameter line from the boost controller to the waste gate. I replaced it with standard diameter vacuum line and it was fixed.

might be a problem with the small AR on the exhaust , and all that distance of the exhaust pipe. otherwords your out of efficency of the turbo.
might need a bigger turbo.

I was ABle to make 15 Lbs EASY B4 the BOV. Its a Upgraded Turbo from STS. I dont think its the turbo nor do I think its maxed out. I have bin told repeatedly that it could and would make upwards to 20lbs If I wanted it to. Its a To4E 67 P-trim .96 A/R Turbo if that helps?

AS for Meth Changing the Intake pressure? The Meth is after everyhting. Its sprayed in at the elbow right B4 the TB. WAY after the BOV.

Vaccume Line - Same size line as B4 - its standard 1/4 Vac Line.

sounds like your BOV is bleeding boost. I believe you can adjust that.

I was told that the TaiL BOV's were NOT adjustable?

Is that True? I dont see anyway to adjust it from the outside?

leaky weld job?

forget to put the o-ring in?

if no adjuster screw, check the spring rating on the bov. next, check vac line to bov, check gasket for bov. If none of these leak.... and you can't adjust bov, get a HKS SSQV bov.

Well I am not 100% sure this was the prob BUT I am sure this was not helping? I was looking at the turbo and moving stuff around and then I found this! Not sure if it was like this the other day?


I dont understand how I could see any increase in boost with the wire off like this?

I have One more Question. - Anyone know how I could test the TAiL BOV off the car?
