Default Few more D1SC/SDCE/FMIC progress pics

Well, going into the 5th week. Major holdups are the trans (my fault for waiting so long to order) and the wolfe rollbar.

Shifter, gauges, SFCs, ABS delete/line lock done, rear suspension is 100% done, blower is mounted for good, tossed in some kooks 1 7/8 headers. Charge pipes are done at the coater, switching everything to t-bolt clamps (what a pain) and decided to try some Strange silver series shocks in the front. I put a single 16" 3300cfm puller fan on it, hoping with no a/c it will be enough, my old single fan stock ATI setup with an unsealed shroud did OK with no A/C so we'll see - may have to put a couple small pushers on the front.

Trans, trans cooler lines, roll bar, little tuning and its done

Nice Kev! Glad to see someone is progressing with no hold ups other than waiting for a tranny. Yeah I wanted to do the T bolt clamps but they are an expensive pain...especially if you order the wrong size

That ABS delete looks whacky! Can you get a close up of that? I'd like to see it.
I see you did a stud for the crank bolt...I asked about that a long time ago on the external board but didn't get any good replies to it. So I didn't do it. Hope it works for you.

No reason the stud wont work since the crank and balancer are keyed. The threads in the crank arent in that great of shape and I dont want to screw them up. The studs are 150,000 PSI steel so it will work just fine @ 150ft/lbs, thats what I used to tighten my pinned balancer on the last ATI car and never had a problem. I wouldnt do it on a non keyed setup though since I wont be tightening this anywhere near the stock bolt torque.

20 t-bolt clamps were cheap on eBay, not as cheap as regular clamps though

The ABS delete is the SJM kit, you have to flare some of the lines yourself (double flaring tool included in the kit). Its really made for the brass to be down be the frame rails after the braided lines but I was too lazy to try double flaring those lines with the motor in the car. It also includes a line lock and wilwood adjustable proportioning valve for 200.00 - good deal IMO and kept me from having to run around and collect all the parts.

Got the pipes back from the coater today so its pretty much done under the hood and inside (except for the roll bar/harness), even did the initial tune to turn off the the A4 codes and other non-running type stuff. All I need is a trans and driveshaft now

I have HP tuner for now, I'll fool with the MAF and get it to work OK for what I am doing with it. Since its a 98 no one will probbaly do a 2 bar or anything like that so if I get serious with the blower I'll go to a standalone or maybe play around with a megasquirt.

Trans should be here soon Kyle, I dragged my *** on ordering it - didnt think I would be almost done so soon. I dont want to order a driveshaft until the trans is in so I'm kinda stuck now. Weather is sucky anyhow

Bored If the parts are here I put them on.

Stuck some Strange 'silver series' springs/shocks on the front this evening and made some little plates out of ABS to tie the inner fenders/bumper cover together a little. Dont want to cut up the stock stuff since I may go back to n/a in a few weeks Nice price on the Strange shocks from Billingsley, they are similar to the type 'R' HALs and went right on.

Took out the a/c vents and put them in, they are the perfect size for 2 5/8 guages. All my a/c and heater stuff is gone so its easy to get to though.

Just grap the slide thing on the vent and it will pop out and then pull the piece behind it out and a 2 5/8 gauge fits in there perfect.....
heres a close up pic of mine before i pushed it in a lil more.
