I had a Nitrous Guy tell me about these NON-projected tip plugs that he said I should be using/? He said a standard plug has a projected tip and that Nitrous, Blowers and Turbo's should use NON projected tip plugs to help prevent detonation? Any of you hear of this B4? What’s the deal with this type of plug? Just looking for some info because every time plugs have come up all I have seen guys use was TR6's - Which has a projected tip? What do you guys think? I have ran these before. Most of them also have a thicker ground strap as well. Good for all kinds of FI.

 

I wonder why More Guys dont use them? Are they avalible in different heat ranges?

 

i was reading an article in one of the muscle car magazines today where they did a dyno test with NGKs and the http://www.briskusa.com/products.htm plugs......the brisk gained a few hp and tq, and the nice thing is that you dont have to gap them.

 

I also read that Artical - Has anyone used these in a Turbo Aplication?

 

Do you have stock LT1 castings or AFR's?

 

I do have stock LT1 Heads that were worked BUT spark plug placement is all stock! How does that affect things?

 

Not sure, they have done the trick for me before on nitrous cars. Yep, sure are.

nevermind.. i just saw they are atleast $10ea... $20ea for the Non-Projected tip... screw that... I go through sparkplugs like tanks of gas...

Here is the NGK 7's----bp7efs
the ones I like to use are.....NGK 5271-8 ( i believe that is the one with the gasket on them)

Just change the last number to 9 or 10 if you want them alot colder.

I use the gasket seat kind simply because it pulls the plug even further out of the head. I run a tight gap to bring some heat back in them and I do not care for idle qualities..AS long as the care starts idles in gear when i need it too then im good. These plugs are not for everyone, but they are highly recommended in the serious race applications.

The ones I use are NGK BKR7e's, but it's not a LS1 plug, I have never needed them. I stick to either the TR6 or "TR8" in my SS. These non-projected plugs do cost a little extra but nothing to major compared to an engine! If you can't find what your looking for you could call NGK direct and tell them what you want, they can give you a good rundown of what they have and then go from there and find what you like.

 

does anyone know the right plug from BRISK for the LT1 cars. I would need a Nitrous friendly plug.
