Detonation got some ringlands
Detonation got some ringlands Finally got the LT1 turbo kit on for some shakedown runs, and the line that was ran to our wastegate melted at the top of 3'rd gear, well as you can guess the boost spiked from 6psi to god only knows what (Gauge only reads 20) .
Soon as it melted we heard the gate close and got off the throttle, but it only takes a fraction of a second to do a whole lot of damage, at first we didn't think they were cracked but after replacing the blown head gasket the car smokes like a crazy bitch once warm, so we must have lost one (or more).
Overall, the LT1 took it like a champ though, no broke rods or melted pistons, time for 8.5:1 and a few other goodies!
BTW : The LT1 kit we fabricated keeps all stock components with no relocation.
