02blue, just an illusion there, the hose is not touching the housing or the mounting flange at all. Its resting in between the compressor housing and the exhaust housing nicely. It will be wrapped with thermotec ultra wrap(tape) and then covered with thermo tec hose sheathing...it will be nicely protected. I spent 200 bucks on heat shielding alone I got a turbonetics heat shield for the turbo too I hope it fits as there wasn't too much info on it.

As for progress, still need to do the pan, it rained all day yesterday I did manage to coat my IC tubes and welded up the TiAL blow off valve too. Just a lil closer.

HAA HAA! 30 minutes later too

Well the damn oil return is done Who ever said dropping the oil pan with the BMR k member was a breeze needs to be shot Talk about a f#@King hassle. Me and my Bro Eric tried like hell to get the oil pan off. We unbolted the motor mounts, jacked up the engine to the freakin sky....well close the damn coil relocation kit was getting in the damn way Tried to drop the pan out, but it was being held up by a freakin hair's worth of bellhousing on the tranny We jacked up the engine more until the cross over pipe from the turbo kit was hitting the bottom of the k member and still NADA! nothing So off came the DP, Cross over pipe and Turbo, jacked the engine up a smidgen higher and made the coil packs that are under the cowl(under the windshield) BEG FOR THEIR LIVES

BAM oil pan came out.....WHEW!!!!!! There was no turning back as I figured with all the pulling and tugging on the pan, that a lot of debris fell into the pan so in my eyes it had to come out.

We drilled and tapped the evil oil pan, my Dad took it to the car wash and degreased and powerwashed it and we then blew it out with compressed air to make sure all was good before we installed it.

Me and my Bro then did the pit crew special on the car and had the pan and turbo kit bolted back up in about 30 minutes I really have to thank my brother and Dad on this one. Today was suppose to be the best day of the whole week, its suppose to rain from tomorrow till saturday so we had to get this part done. God really helped too as it was calm and warm today so working on the car was awesome....that joker.

Glad this part is done and over with. Just have to add some heat shielding which is coming fed ex, and adjust the tranny lines some more and wait for the alternator bracket to be delivered....remembered to send the money for it yesterday...
Then hopefully I can get her started.

Here are two pics of some progress....

What do you guys think? this is with the pan tapped and the drain line routed from the turbo to the drain fitting....looks good?

And here is my TiAL BOV on my coated IC tubing...looks pretty good forgot to grind the welding spatter off before I coated the tubing...DUH!

Its coming together....slowly but surely....

One more question...what kind of HP can I expect from my lil GT42 turbo if all goes right?

That's what I'm saying Screw the alternator But John is making one for me now so thats awesome. But that's about it, small lil stuff like adjusting everything and installing the boost controller and shes good to go.

700=1.5hp up here j/k it'll probably be good for 650 uncorrected up here if I leave it around 15 psi.

Hey frcefed98 got a question about that gt-42. How big is it compaired to the t-76? And how much room do you have where the turbo sits? Do you think a t-88 would fit there if positioned correctly? Lookin good by the way. I love how you keep us informed with pics all the time. Thanks

Hi Gary, the TB/IC pipe is about 2 inches away from the DP and only a small section is exposed to the DP at that point. I'd think its fine as both pipes are coated and the DP will be wrapped with copper header wrap when it arrives.

I would try to route it through the fuse block area but I already have stuff there

bc56f100 I don't really know about the size difference between the two as this is the first turbo i've seen in person I DO know that Phamspeed did put a T88 on a set up like mine and it fit great. PM John@phamspeed to see if he still has pics of the T88 set up.

Kyle....I think I'll leave the boost controller off the car intially....WG is springed for 12psi so it shouldn't boost past that right? I figured I'd do a base tune without the boost controller to keep things consistent.....if I have the right understanding about WG's....which I probably don't
