Hey, no problem for the pics I'm glad you were able to get it out and back in! Your drain looks similar to mine, and mine has been fine so far.

With regards to the wastegate, I have a 40mm with a .6 bar spring in it, I run no boost controller and I hold rock steady at 7-8 psi, which is exactly what I'm looking for. The wastegate spring is the minimum boost you can expect, and the boost controller will allow more boost to be run. Just make sure you have the boost reference connected to the correct hose barb on the wastegate and everything should be just fine until you want/need more boost.

yeah if the wastegate spring is a 12# spring then when it sees 12#'s it will open, its going to depend where hes running the vacuum for it though, if he runs it off of the turbo discharge then actual manifold boost may only be 10#'s(give ro take) due to piping intercooler etc.

If he runs the vacuum line from the manifold to the wastegate then yes he will be seeing a true 12psi to the motor
make any better sense???

Kinda...... so what does it do to it when you want to run more then that?? How does it act? Do?

what a boost controller does to make more boost: the vacuum like that goes into the boost controller operates the WG. the boost controller goes inline with that and bleeds off pressure.

so heres an example, you want to run 18psi, running a line from the manifold, the line comes down from the manifold to the boost controller, then from controller to wastegate. the boost controller is seeing 18psi, and bleeding off 6psi, so the WG is now only seeing 12psi and then opening.

all the boost controller is doing is bleeding off psi, fooling the WG into thinking it needs to open later than its used to.

it only work one way though, you cant tighten the controller down and have it add psi, lol, to have the WG open at say 10psi.

Some WG's have a spring on the top and you can crank that down and have it open sooner to effectivly lower the PSI going to the engine

that basically explains the mechanics of it, anymore questions feel free to ask

Cool Thanks guys......
Kyle you freak me out man, I love to say "DAMN IT JIM!" when things mess up Are you sure you ain't hiding out in my backyard laughing at my every move?
As for the alternator bracket, money was sent and got there.....when it will be done is not up to me. I'm sure John is real busy over there so i'll have to wait. As for my Tig welding stuff, I had to have the GAY discharge flange for the GT42 tig'ed to another piece of aluminum 3.0 straight tube(small 3 inch section) but they(tig shop) were in the middle of a production run when I took it down there and the latest they could tig it for me is tomorrow or tuesday....depending on how much of the run they finished for Sandia Labs.
I jinxed myself saying 2 weeks and it'll be done, not much I can do about that anymore. I have to get her running NOW! I have to emissions the damn thing by the 19th of this month. Glad they only scan it for 96+ cars this year....I think I'll luck out because my car doesn't throw codes Thanks LS1edit and HPtuners for that.

Ed, I got all that stuff from JEGS. I ordered some sheathing that went over the lines, but "clicked" on the wrong size when I was ordering from the website I was going to use that on my PS lines and oil drain back line....it was suppose to be 1inch OD and I got 1/4 to 1/2.... oh well....guess thats what happens when you are madly clicking away. I just used the sticky thermal tape to cover em, I got that stuff just in case I needed it...which I ended up needing anyway

Ark, you'll probably have your car up and running before me......I can't believe my luck on this install thus far. I'll be watching for any updates you post up.

chug along I will

Here is the DP, had to wait for an extra hand to help me hold the damn squirely down pipe

And since my passenger side header sits so close to the wires that run down the inner fender well...I used 12x12 heat shielding panels that have their own adhesive backing on em....JUST BE SURE IF YOU USE THESE THAT YOU CLEAN THE AREA REAL GOOD FIRST....like do this before you put the header on

Real small gap there...hope I don't have problems with the wires that are underneath. I left the stock GM foil wrapped convoluted tubing on the wires as another back up.

And working with all this fiberglass tape SUCKS....I itch like a ****....even after a cold shower
