Default D-1SC or F1

I am in the process of building a 402 iron block. I am looking to add a street/strip supercharger for it in the future. Which would be more suitted for the job, the D1SC or F1?

The D-1SC can do the job fine, you'll have to spin it a little harder, but nothing to bad....

The F1 has a higher step up ratio of 5:1 instead of the 4.10:1 like the D-1SC.....F1 pushes more CFM, makes more power w/the same pulleys that a D-1SC would use if you swapped over

Main problem I had running my F1 on my f-body was not being able to squeeze a filter in it, some little mods need to be done to get one in there, I'm not sure who else has tried.....

Both are really good blowers though......

I run the D1 and was able to get some pretty decent numbers out of it. It all depends on how much time you want to dedicate to your supercharger system.

If you are going to be hitting the track alot, I would get the F1 and make it work.

If you are building a street machine, get the D1 and pully the bitch for all she's got.

The D1 maxed is more than the car will be able to put down on the street. The F1 on the street is just overkill (read: not much fun because you can't hookup anywhere below 100 MPH).

Yea, I made 660rwhp with an F1 w/15lbs of boost, 60lb injectors, twin 420L bosch pumps, fuel rails, on top of a 370 motor....I had a griffin intercooler as well....

I dynoed through a TH400 with a 4000 stall that was flashing to 6300 when you hit it, the car would of made 700rwhp with a more efficient converter.....

I had 28x12.5x15" Et streets on the car and I wouldn't hook up till 3rd gear.....

F1 IS REALLY A TRACK BLOWER, I AM RUNNING A F1-C AT 17 PSI 785 RWHP, NO TRACTION TILL ABOUT 120MPH

Dont bother with the D-1SC or F1, I have had both, installed on the car, and the F1-R is where its at. The difference is unbelievable. Spend the extra couple hundred and just commit. And that is nonsense about a F-1 or F1-R being for the track only. I drive mine on the street all day, and still get 25 MPH on the highway.

Couple of sand bags in the back of that vette will fix that traction thing right up.

I have a 408iron block with a F-1. I am running 11psi of boost with a shitty *** tune and the car is still making 739rwhp on 91 octane. We didn't rev it past 5500rpms and didn't have any meth on it. Procharger told me that the F-1R is a very peaky blower, meaning it flows a lot more on the top end. They told me to run a F1C (I think that is what it was called) or just stick with the F1. Reality is with a 402cid you are going to have a bottom end from hell anyways so the F1R shoudl be fine. Also keep in mind I am spinning my blower at about 61,000rpms and it is good to 70,000rpms. If think you might need more than 800-850rwhp go with the F1R.

F1c will make power a lot sooner, so its probably a better choice for the street but still has a really aggressive step up ratio

Id say F1-R. you might sac a lil on low end but i think you'd be happier with it, imho. Look at Bryans numbers and as he said he drives it on the street. Gotta love an 850-900rwhp pump gas street car

OK besides the D-1SC and Speed Inc's YS-trim kits, who makes the larger Procharger brackets, pulleys, and ducts? I have a tame cam right now. Speed Inc's SC2 cam and Ported LQ9 Heads is what I have as of now. If my math is right, the D-1SC would max out on flow at about 10psi, but I have no idea how efficient it is. I like the idea of the F1C providing alittle more low end push.

Look in there under 2004 setup.....I have plenty of pictures of my old setup

Your better off building a kit from seperate parts than ordering the standard kit and just upgrading the head unit......the F1 head unit goes for around $2500

A friend of mine is running a 6.0 iron with everything forged and a D1 at 14psi and put down 687rwhp. I right now am a rebuilt ls1 with thicker gaskets to lower the compression just a little and am maxing my P1 at 11.5psi and just got it tuned and dynoed over 500rwhp and 500ft lb of torque. Get the F1, I wish I would have went with the D1 instead of the P1. I kick myself now over it. Go Big. You wont regret it.
