Default spec me out a 347 w/ati

spec me out and price me out a nice 347 w/an ati that will give me at least 600rwhp on 93 octane pump gas....real world price not underestimates...i need a fuel system, engine, heads, and whatever else i'll need. i know i will be going with a futral cam so i'll get with allen on that...i'm hoping this is in my budget as i'm wanting to do something as soon as i get the tranny fixed...i'm on a fairly tight budget but i want it to last and work well...ls6 intake good enough? i'm trying to think whether or not i should go ahead and get my throttle body ported, or wait and get a fast intake.

Allan does 347's, and also does blower setups and tuning.. might want to ask him about that too.

peace,
Josh

Both should be fine for your goal.

I might be buying my dads truck in the next few weeks, so maybe I could help you get it transported to Futral..

Thanks,

i think i'm just going to get the short block from futral and assymble it myself...unless labor isn't much...then i can install the supercharger and take it down to tampa to get it tuned by jeremy...unless you suggest i not do that...i'm thinking about getting a cheap daily driver though and working on the car in my spare time since it is a lot of fun for me...but then again i haven't had any bad experiences and i guess i really haven't done anything to major....

600 rear wheel on 93 will be hard, you'll need some good heads (read NOT CHEAP, AFR's and a decent blower cam like 224/227, 224/230 etc) give Norris a call he's in Orlando and has done many fi setups. doing ported throttle bodies on blower setups really doesn't give big gains.

i see...i'm going down to norris here soon to get my tranny rebuilt i guess i can discuss some stuff with him...i just know he is pricey, or at least the times that i have asked some stuff he was...i was planning on AFR's and a custom futral cam (fairly big) anyhow...i figure i'll make as much as i can on pump and then have another pulley so i can make more on race gas...i don't know how easily that can be done...i would go turbo (would be easier to do that) but i think that is a little too much money for me...

Hi Kevin,

I was just getting to your PM when I spotted this doing a search. See what you think.

As far as 600RWHP on pump gas, I can give you a great example of what we can do. We did a 2004 Z06 that we installed forged flat top pistons, forged connecting rods, stock crank, balanced and blueprinted rotating assembly, 216/224 115 XER cam, stock heads with dual spring kit, stock LS6 intake, stock TB, stock MAF, stock exhaust manifolds, stock catalytic converters & H pipe, stock titanium exhaust and SPEC Stage 3 clutch w/ aluminum flywheel. We installed a front mount single intercooler package, with a P1SC and a Vortech race blow off valve and spun her to make 11-12lbs of boost. Stock fuel system except for a boost-a-pump and 60lb injectors. She put down 606RWHP and 510RWT at a 11.8-12.0 to 1 AF ratio and 22-24* of timing on top. Looks, sounds and drives stock getting 28-30 MPG. A lot of fun snewaking up on folks in the car.

Of course from there you could add headers, off road pipes, better catback, larger D1SC, better heads, larger cam, etc. and get about anything you want.

Talk to you soon and hope this helps.

Mike Norris

600 rear wheel on 93 really won't be hard if he runs decent compression. A 9.5:1 347 blower motor is hard pressed to make 600 RWHP on 93 octane reliably. An 8.5:1 347 blower motor isn't really hard pressed to make 600 at all. Even going by the 15 psi to double output rule, which is a bit of an overestimate in terms of boost required with lots of these huge blowers, a 400 RWHP heads/cam motor should only take around 8 pounds of boost to add 50% power to make it to 600.
