Default I finally caught a break.

in both senses.

normally dumb stuff like this just trashes something expensive.

I havent been under the valvecovers since I put the engine in february. Yesterday I took them off as the ARE heads were being removed and installed on a friends car to make room for the ALL- PRO's. It comes to my attention that one of the valvesprings is f'ing broke! The broken part thank goodness decided not to fall out and stayed wedged under the retainer. Wonder when this happened? Before my last wide open pull at the track at 144.7mph? Before my 900rw pull?

anybody got a spare comp 941 laying around? we got one stock lt1 spring on my buddy Greg's car right now.

also check out these flanges i made at work on the laser

You must have had some good Karma coming your way for that thing to stay put. Nice flanges

You should now dub you the 'King of the Hill' with a broken valve spring. lmao

Those are some nice flanges, what are the details on those all pro heads? Are you testing a set too or are they out for sale?

Those are some nice flanges, what you going to be using them for?

MM,
If you dont mind me asking, but what do those heads set someone back? And I am assuming they are a huge improvement? I know what the ohio boys would have paid, so im just wondering what the normal production cost would be, I was thihnking about possibly getting these or the AFR's.
Thanks, PM if youd prefer

Hey Dave, little bit off topic, where's the meth located? Just looking at mounting possibilities and don't see it on the updated webpage. Back on topic, wow...amazing luck and those flanges look great.

sb, my snow pump is located in the nose on the bumper support. the tank is the stock windsheild reservoir, the nozzles are on the pipe between the intercooler and the tb. in front of the radiator.

i have a couple pics, but everything is so tight in there you really cant see any part of the meth system at all.

Cool thanks...been thinking about the possibility of doing something. Oh, with the stock washer tank, does that still operate?

Damn David..... you lucky bastard..... everything sounded normal???
I contacted W2W also on a set of ALLPRO's....
With Iconel valves on the exaust and stainless steel on the intake your looking at 2900.00 minus port work. Add 600 if you want titanium intake valves. wich i do...... so i have to save up a little more....

What makes the AllPros so much better than the AFR's? I really dont know, and havent herd of anyone actually seeing them, other than I guess MM now.

But what is so great about them, I am trying to figure out why I should spend the extra 1k on em
Thanks in advance, MM you have any pictures of your heads? that you wouldnt mind sharing?

The extra $1000 im paying is the price of the valves.....
Inconel valves take HIgh High heat wicjh is what you want with a turbo setu are $400 extar so $100 a valve and Titanium Inake valves are $600 so that were the price is...... give all pro a call and talk to them..... you can do AFR's also and they will be about the same in price with those valves and some hand blending.....

ok that makes sense, its the valve material that is pushing the price up so much.

Will regular valves not hold up to the heat of a turbo motor??
For right now Im running regular heads and valves, so I hope Im going to be ok.

What do the allpros flow as compared to the AFR's? similiar, do they ahve a smaller port like the AFR's?

Just figured id ask since you guys seem to know mroe about these heads than ANYONE else.
thanks again

I was told the stock valves or SS valves will start to tulip and not seat proberly after a while........ I know the AllPro's like the AFR's have alot thicker deck like we FI people want. I know here soon Kurt at W2W will be posting up some more info

yes my stock washer tank and pump still operates normally, just squirts meth on the windheild when it needs a cleanin'.

motor sounded normal yes. with it all still in there i guess the only thing that really changed was i lost some spring pressure on that one valve.

i dont know much about the all pros other than they were not out of my price range and the same head is on the fastest ls1 so was an easy choice for me.
i havent laid eyes on them other than the pictures that were posted in the engine section and that are on the all pro website. mine are due here this comming week.
i know these heads are hoss beefy and thats what i need.

yep thats a t-6 flange... TWO of them!! muahahaha! (yea right)

69firebird, i have been running stainless valves for the past two years in the harshest environment ever i think (ls1m kit) I dont think you need to freak about the valves.. ss is good, just heavy.
