Default Question On Cam......

I have a 346ci, D1SC being pushed to 61,000 impeller rpms.. Stage 1 Heads, HOTCAM with 218/227 .525 .525 112LSA. I also have 1.8 Jessel Rockers which brings my Lift to .555.. Also I will be installing a METH Kit soon..

With a P1SC I made 621RWHP with 11psi of boost, HOTCAM, Stage 1 Heads and 9.2 to 1 compression. I have since switched to a D1SC Maxing that out and currently see 14PSI Max now, but that's at 6400 rpms.. My Seat of the Pant feels like the car is over 700RWHP but I have yet to Dyno the car..

The Motor is out for a change of Valve Springs, and I have a opportunity to get a 218/218 .555 .555 114LSA Cam for real cheap. With my 1.8 rockers it would put my total lift to about .590, but it's not a split durration cam..

My question is this, I'm sure I will see more boost with this other 114LSA cam, but total Power at a given boost, say 14psi at 6,000 engine rpms for the 114 CAM or my Split durration HOTCAM with 112LSA and less Lift will I see that much more Power?? The fact it's a stright up 218/218 durration cam will work but will it effect correct flow?? The cam will work but it's not the perfect BLOWER CAM, however again my question is will it provide me a lot more power than the HOTCAM?

Let me know ..

Clint

I think the HOTCAM will show more power than this other cam even though it has less lift and 112LSA due to the higher exhaust duration.
Why dont u go with something like 224/230 or 226/232 114LSA with .560 lift and your 1.8 rockers. Or u can sell the Hotcam, 218 cam and the rockers and just get a cam with lift grind into it with stock rockers.

When are you going to dyno the car? Im interested to see how much it put down.

The 218/218 cam will improve your performance IMO I don't think any one can say for sure, but I think it will. But with that said if you are doing a cam swap take the time and put the one you want in there and not just one that is a good deal I mean if it was free and you were unhappy with it the $300 you would have to spend to correct the problem would seem like such a little amount really. I run a 224/230 114 and I am only seeing 7lbs and I am not that far off of you according to my last dyno and I am running way less boost etc... Get the right cam and never look back.

Understood.. You dynoed 559RWHP with only 7psi of boost.. Different heads? That's not bad at all. I did 524RWHP on a completely bone stock motor and 7psi..

Remember my compression is lower.. Okay.. I agree with the correct cam choice.. Just have a chance to get this cam for a great price.. Also the lift is .561 not .555 so it's even higher..

You made 621rwhp before, at what rpm? What did you make at 5000, and 5500?

Your max engine rpm will be 6400? Not say 6800?
