Default STS with headers, go or no go?

I have read on here about the turbos taking longer to spool with headers and bigger exhaust but I want one...and will have one soon. I am putting SLP headers on my car the next couple of weeks and an ORY, a borla catback, 160 & 202 valves, a 228/228 114 .568/.568, 918 springs, comp rockers, and trick flow pushrods, tit retainers, etc.,etc., to the valvetrain. Will this be "ok" with an STS set-up or would the exhaust be too big? Would a bigger turbo be needed? What do you guys think, you're the rocket scientists...lol. Anythinf you think I should change let me know...I'm open for anything that will help.

Hey Darkblue, you won't realize the "normal" gains with headers on a turbo vehicle. Lots of times it can hurt if you get leaks at the collector and/or flange. Superchargers love headers tho.
Lots of folks sell the headers to recoup some money towards the turbo kit....

So you r saying that with a tubo kit, it is better to have stock manifolds?

For the rear mount type turbos, yes I would save the money or sell the headers to recoup some cash for the turbo kit. If you are using a "typical" front mount turbo you need a custom set of headers anyway ( sorry, don't mean to sound condescending ) and LT will not work into the equation. My two cents.....

I have 1-3/4" long tube headers on my car as the only mod other than the STS kit, and I still gained 101 hp at the wheels. I don't have any problems with the turbo spooling up...

times & other stuff listed on my web page (see sig.)
