Question Wanting A Pro-Charger

Well, i have a 98 Trans Am . It's slightly modded to put it at around 400 rwh . I'm wanting to put a procharger on my car, but don't know what all is going to need replacing and upgrading . I have a $5,000-$8,000 budget for this, and don't want to go over this price. I am looking for any suggestions, as well as help on saving a few bucks. Also (off topic), I'm looking for a set of true duals that come completly to the back w/ tips. Lastly, Any cheap mods anyone knows of would gladly be appreciated as well.

You can get the P1SC1 (5#)installed with guages and a tune for about 7k. If you want more boost you will need to change injectors.

how much power are you looking to make? anything more then 550 rwhp might be pushing it on stock bottom end, unless you have a killer tune.

good luck though.

Be careful. Prochargers always seem to have belt slip

SDPC and SLP has a 402cid Short Block for 4K.

Add some nice Heads, LS2 Intake and a lump cam and watch out.

i'm thinking of getting one as well. how much would it cost for just the procharger and all the parts. I have a buddy that says he can install it, he has a shop and everything(tools). how long does an install usually take?
also will a procharger fit under a stock SS hood? and will a borla catback be good enough exhaust?

Install took myself and a friend with air-tools 14 hours. Wasn't to hard at all.

Yes it will fit. And no cutting of the oil pan. I run a Borla.

thanks for the quick reply guys.
so the procharger doesn't take oil from your engine? is it self contained?
also, did you guys running the procharger with the borla get a larger y pipe?

As long as you keep the boost low, and you can find a used kit , it would be close to that $ . Up the boost .............up the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Yes self-contained.

I am running Jet-Hot Headers and their Y pipe. Exhaust is important on FI.
