Default any body using arp studs

problem at hand

i know there are a few people using them here so i figured i would post and see what i came up with. trying to get CANNIBAL to post hte pics of the possible problem

the one protruding is on the drivers side and thats the way all of them look. and the others are on the passenger side. what do you think

Check my reply in your other thread.. You need to chase all the threads in the block and put the studs back in..

Well it depends on the head Gaskets you used if it is the graphite ones yes if the MLS then maybe not if you didn't run it long. I am with Brian chase them and blow them out a couple of times.

If they are torqued and tight, whats the problem ? I would assume you still have plenty of thread left to clamp down despite what you see.

If you were to remove and replace the studs one at a time, if you did want to clean the threads and re-check, I see no reason why gaskets would need replaced.
If they are MLS type, Ive re-used Subaru MLS gaskets on occasion with no issues. MLS are supposed to be re-useable, although I cant see many doing it too often.

yeah that the only ones i can see are doing it. all bolts torqued down to spec even the 8mm ones. would i be alright if i put it all back together. and the car hasnt even been started

I don't think new headgaskets would be needed b/c the engine has never been run. Also, since they've held the torque they were set to that means they're holding clamping forces down like they should.

what about the studs on the ends of each head. all four of mine are just barley through the nut. is the head thicker on the ends in that area
